I have two incomplete No. 1208 sets.

The set on the left is missing a couple sockets, the spinner, the midget sliding tee, the adaptor (for the midget sliding tee (female), and the 6" extension.

The set on the right is missing the midget sliding tee and the 6" extension.



The set on the left was the first one shown on the SK thread, at the time, and kicked off a fun identification-guessing process...

Having said that, collected specimens seem to show they changed socket configurations at some point in production. My No. 1208 sets both have a mix of 6-, 8-, and 12-point sockets.

What @Oldtuleguy and @LesserSon have are No. 1212 sets. The XL extensions - 9"! - are the tell.

Your eyes must have been tired; this IS a 1208 set, missing the 6” spinner and the 7/16” 12pt socket.
If my Duro/Indestro spinners didn’t have hex drive shafts, I’d stick a one in the box. I’ve probably got something S-K (maybe not cad) for the 7/16 socket.

The unmarked (but obviously S-K) 1/4” drive knurled sockets are few and far between. I sent most of the ones I had that weren’t cracked to BK for his set. I’ll check to see if I have any left when I return to the Bay Area.

More than my eyes! Conflating my PM conversations with 4.c on the confusing socketry in the 1208 with the 1211 and 1212, which are 1/2-DRIVE! My bad. I will edit to prevent further confusion.

I have a badly cracked 5/16. There was also similarly configured 3/8 set. These cheapo sets were sold under fulton, tiger,Brazil and probably other names.

^ but as near as Don and I were able to determine, the markings on the S-K "Carb-O-Mang" sockets are somewhat unique (two dots- one on each side of size stamp; cross-hatch knurling; NO "S-K" or other markings), and they have that dull "cad" type finish.

The carbomang were definately the dull finish, also the fultons. Here's a 1/4" brazil set that's pretty dull.

^ those look like a match (somewhat.) one of the other "weird" things about the "Carb-O-Mang" set was the detents on the "Sliding T handle" - detent ball at both ends!

So I finally have another 1/4" set to add - scored at the annual Threshermens Show in Pinckneyville IL yesterday (missed it 3 times earlier going by the vendor). An International Forge set with ratchet, Provincial posted one @ 6 years ago with fewer sockets and no ratchet, but a driver handle in far better shape than my chewed-up one. The sockets are marked with I.F.C and the size only.. Ratchet says USA (had to be MDF sourced) but nothing else marked that way. Already have a ratchet in the obsess.... er, "collection" but couldn't resist since I've never seen anything else in person. Can't complain for $20.

^ I have almost two complete sets of International Forge 1/4", one of which includes a copper-plated ratchet, just in case you're interested. They're in a box of 1/4" mish-mash I haven't gotten to yet.
Not sure if I have a spinner. The ratchets are carbon-copies of the same era MDF Craftsmans, other than the brand name forged into them.

^ I don't have any Metcoid but... that International Forge ratchet (made by MDF) is a dead ringer for the older RP Craftsman models.
Pretty sure I have two ratchets... one plain steel, one copper, and one complete set and one almost complete set. I should dig them out - I finally got through that box of Proto stuff (except for three empty socket boxes.)

I've got a triple play of Metcoid ratchets and 2 out of 3 IFC - need a 1/2" if it exists - but until this IFC set I've never seen anything else socket or drive tool-wise. If you get to digging out those IFC sets I'd be curious what sockets are there. A couple of mine are doubles and there's still room in the box for more. Interestingly several are 12pt, which isn't overly common for 1/4".
