As always it’s coming along great Royce. Any worries about the trailer floating on you?, that’s a lot wood.

Thanks Cam,
No worries, having a polyethylene keel shoe, it should slide off the trailer without submerging much of it.

I know better then to ever doubt a design choice you've made and implemented Royce, but I had to ask. :)

Got the third and final coat of primer on.
This finish will be far from perfect, bugs, cottonwood seeds, sags, ripples and brush marks.
It will look just fine at about 10' away, maybe 20' away !

I don’t believe you Royce. That beauty looks like a piece of plastic from my view 👍

Very few people if any will notice your perceived imperfections, besides a good portions of it is under water and the fish don't care. You have skills!

That's so true Baldewin,
No one cares and the flaws are only noticed by tradesman.
The finish will be adequate for a dinghy out in the country.
Thanks

I keep seeing your mention of epoxy. I got some 2-part epoxy from a guy that had to do some work on his boat and had some left over. Used it on the floor of my sled trailer. Fortunately I had a long nap roller to induce some "white cap" action in the epoxy for some winter traction, hopefully. Hard as nails.

Woods,
Bear in mind that epoxy is UV sensitive and needs to be painted if exposed to sun light.

Just be glad you don’t have a Newfound dog in your shop. The hair is enough to become a structural component in the epoxy

Thanks.

For the application, I'll just keep the doors shut when I'm not loading/unloading. Carbide on the skis would just chew the paint off the floor making it look worse than oxidized epoxy.

Puget,
I have read that the gods frown on perfection, I'm doing my part to keep them at ease!

First coat of color on and will get a second, before the day is out.

Permanently bedded and fastened the polyethylene keel shoe and copper stem shoe.

Landed and drilled for a couple line chocks up at the bow.

The tarnished copper and the bronze chocks sure looks fine, against the cream colored paint, to my eye anyhow.

Got her rolled over and started prepping the insides for primer.

Thanks Woods and hell yea, she's going in the water as soon as possible!

Got the second coat of primer on the insides and oiled the thwarts, today.
Should get some color on it tomorrow.
