Need help on Snap On toolbox date

Hi everyone. I am new so please excuse any mistakes I might make. I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me when the Snap On KC506A toolbox was made. I am from Canada and they might have different model numbers here (not sure). It is a 12 drawer top box and I wondered how old it might be, within a range. Thanks in advance for your help, Bill.

Thanks LB. I looked at the KC506B in the 1979 Catalog and it is virtually identical to the one at the top left (letter "A"). I also looked for the year beside the model number as you suggested with another link, but there is no year there. The other set is not exactly the same as mine although the drawer layout is the same. The only obvious difference is my Snap On emblem is attached rather than painted on. So my thought is that the KC506A is probably just an older version of the 1979 one. Thanks very much for the quick response and the information.

Is there a number on the fourth line of the marking on the back?



The first "number" is the date-code.Mine was 1984.

I also found a date-sticker on the bottom of the top drawer, but sadly no date.
