Okay folks, I have been lurking on here for a long time and I finally pulled the trigger on a 56" extreme tools box.
I was replacing a 41" costco csps stainless steel box that was actually very sturdy. I was fortunate enough to pick it up before steel prices went crazy and they started taking drawers out to keep prices down. The box sold in about 3 hours at my work and the new owner will give it a good life.
Now on to the new box. I work about 15 minutes from Extreme's warehouse in Naperville, IL but since they are on the level and don't undercut their distributors I purchased from http://www.strictlytoolboxes.com/ and picked it up with a friends pick up saving the shipping fees. I worked out great. Me and my buddy were able to lift it out of the pick up bed with no issues. Extreme loaded it right off the dock with a fork truck.
Thing is packaged very well and didn't have a mark on it. Only had to install the casters which was a little challanging by myself but I managed. Had a neighbor help me lift the chest onto the roller, not that strong anymore and my back might have exploded.
Finish is great, I opt'd for the bright blue so I wouldn't have to look at constant dust on the other black color option. I had a side job to do last weekend on Monday since I had MLK day off. Box works great, drawers I will need to figure out yet as when I close them I was sending stuff rolling around and wrenches all over. They did supply nice precut foam liners for the drawers which will have to do in the interim. Once the drawers were loaded as people have commented they slide even nicer with the weight in them. I believe it is a good deal and the overall construction and finish in a home shop will outlast my working years. I recommend them if you don't have the funds since a mac/snap-on box this size I am guessing would be an easy $10k and up. Very happy, buy with confidence as they say.
