IMO the steel plates don't do a lot anyway. I've seen more than enough of the 2.5" GRKs go straight through them.
6 months? AmateurIt took me six months to sell, give away and dump all the pilfered **** I had in WA. No more pilfering. More for the rest of you guys.
The plates are a Southern thing John.First comment I expected.
Not so. Only if there is less than 1-1/4" of material left from the face of the stud. I was a GC building custom homes for 35 years.

Going to be a great tablesaw set up!
Wish I had enough real estate to dedicate to that.
I’m not familiar with Banovich, but I believe that is a Robert Bateman print.

When we moved to the PNW, one of my first friends was Bart Rulon. He took me out to photograph snowy owls wintering on Whidbey Island, bald eagles on the Skagit River. Invited us to the wildlife art shows he was involved in. Limited edition prints are cheap. The only original stuff we have are Bart's, and I traded him some camera equipment for an original painting. You guys have class...
Me....
I got miss October![]()
Come on Scott. You're telling me what I have on my wall ?
It's a Banovich poster of his limited edition print. We have a Robert Bateman print in the house. I have met both artists. My closest friend on Whidbey ( Bart Rulon ) is a top wildlife artist, photographer, author.
( first pic is Bateman. second pic is a Rulon ) :

Both of them got me beatLook at Banovich's work.
I guess you could always ask Shorty for help but that comes with it's own risks that you may not be willing to accept.
No offense taken. I realize I can't do everything I used to do, but I don't know people here to call on (except Shorty) and this was supposed to be just something quick to finish the day before going in to feed the dogs. There's going to be a lot more I'll be tackling alone ( and without a pallet jack ). I'll be 68 in December.I'm not sure how to say this without being offensive John. As we age we need to work smarter and not harder. Alieve or Tylenol can only do so much.
I myself have much difficulty with this. I turn 63 on Saturday and I sometimes have difficulty in asking for help in things that I could do without help just a few years ago. It aint easy getting older and asking for help is not my forte. We're both pretty effin stubborn and it's hard to admit we need help, but sometimes we need to realize that we are not 20 years old.
I get pissed as hell when I have to wait for someone to help me do something that I could have done myself a year or two ago.
