Its looking good John.
No comment on the plates but I will jump on the pallet jack band wagon. You'd be surprised at all the things a pallet jack can do besides lifting pallets.
I started out years ago putting wheels on everything in the shop and soon realized that good casters are very expensive. I bought a new pallet jack for $200 and it was one of the best investments I ever made for the shop.

I’m on that bandwagon too. Everything I have that’s big and bulky is set up to move with a pallet jack.

Every machine I have that would need lifting will be put in place and stay there. A few machines have mobile bases to get pulled away from the wall for occasional use. This is not my first shop, and I've never felt the need to own a pallet jack.

I pilfer a few of the better pallets that show up to my job sites.

I have about 12 -5 gallon cans of paint on one, a few hundred feet of SO cord on another, and a miscellaneous **** collection.

Makes it so easy to move around without breaking my back.

It took me six months to sell, give away and dump all the pilfered **** I had in WA. No more pilfering. More for the rest of you guys.
6 months? Amateur 😏

I just loaded the last dump load and give away over the past two days. It’s only taken me three years to end my 30yr collection of **** at this house.

There’s one upside to being this old. I don’t have another 30yrs left in me to make that same mistake again 🤪

If it was my shop….wait part of it is. I want plates and a pallet jack on my side.

(Edit-Zooming in, I see you did tape the wood before painting. Interesting idea on laying out the in wall utilities. A great idea would be paint color coded areas then lay down some 1/8 or 1/4” pinstripe tape, paint the final wall color and pull the tape.

Table saw assembled. I have never used the riving knife or blade guard on any table saw I've owned. They get in the way. This saw has a built-in riving knife that looks pretty complicated to remove. Could be major surgery.
The feet for leveling the extension table legs screwed out to almost the last thread, so I'm going to need to find longer ones or do some all-thread replacements/extensions.
Then I built my infeed support for wide and long materials. I saw that Lowes sells these small/short sawhorses that are built the same way I build mine and cheap enough. Just had to customize it.
Hung a poster. (I've always been fascinated by the intelligence of elephants, and nobody paints elephants like John Banovich.)
Next, I need to buy some 3/4" birch ply and build an outfeed table and an assembly table. I use plywood rips to frame them so they are FLAT, and stay that way. (pic from the WA shop)

Going to be a great tablesaw set up!
Wish I had enough real estate to dedicate to that.

I’m not familiar with Banovich, but I believe that is a Robert Bateman print.

Come on Scott. You're telling me what I have on my wall ? :headscrat
It's a Banovich poster of his limited edition print. We have a Robert Bateman print in the house. I have met both artists. My closest friend on Whidbey ( Bart Rulon ) is a top wildlife artist, photographer, author.
( first pic is Bateman. second pic is a Rulon ) :

You guys have class...

Me....

I got miss October ✊
When we moved to the PNW, one of my first friends was Bart Rulon. He took me out to photograph snowy owls wintering on Whidbey Island, bald eagles on the Skagit River. Invited us to the wildlife art shows he was involved in. Limited edition prints are cheap. The only original stuff we have are Bart's, and I traded him some camera equipment for an original painting.

Outfeed table almost finished, just need to screw down the melamine and rout the miter slot extensions.
Started building the assembly table (4x8). It will get 1/2" CDX top so I can abuse and replace as needed.
Tops of saw, outfeed and assembly table all on same plane.

Been out of action for two weeks. Had a fall trying to load my 41" rolling toolchest into my van to transport from the shed to the shop. Did a number on my back. Need to get off my *** and mow the retention pond before it becomes a jungle. Hope to be able to get some QST soon.

I'm not sure how to say this without being offensive John. As we age we need to work smarter and not harder. Alieve or Tylenol can only do so much.

I myself have much difficulty with this. I turn 63 on Saturday and I sometimes have difficulty in asking for help in things that I could do without help just a few years ago. It aint easy getting older and asking for help is not my forte. We're both pretty effin stubborn and it's hard to admit we need help, but sometimes we need to realize that we are not 20 years old.

I get pissed as hell when I have to wait for someone to help me do something that I could have done myself a year or two ago.

I guess you could always ask Shorty for help but that comes with it's own risks that you may not be willing to accept.

No offense taken. I realize I can't do everything I used to do, but I don't know people here to call on (except Shorty) and this was supposed to be just something quick to finish the day before going in to feed the dogs. There's going to be a lot more I'll be tackling alone ( and without a pallet jack ). I'll be 68 in December.
