thx!

some more pics of the SR500, that came in for maintenance :)

frame all stripped, just need to fix a broken mount for the center stand that I welded back on a few months ago in a hurry, no I have the time and space to do it better

all the smaller parts that I blasted and powdercoated satin gloss black

also rebuild a bmw k100 water/oil pump. it's a combined pump, front part is the waterpump, the back is the oil pump. consists of two O-rings with a small "leaking" area in between. when one or both sides are leaking, they fluid or oil comes in the area and can go through a weep hole to alarm about a leak.

waterpomp2.jpg

when I mounted it back up, it was leaking water again, so had to replace the seal again... It's a very "strange" seal in the sence that the middle parts of the seals is turning together with the oil/waterpump shaft. it's very brittle upon mouting it, but all good now

and some interesting bikes in the shop as well.
a 60's honda CB450 K0 aka black bomber and a cb72. from which I believe to be a 2nd owner bike. very original but all the cables need to be changed as they have gone britle. and also needs new tires. they look brand new, but are very old as it doesn't get ridden alot. downside, difficult to find the right size/period correct tires for it.

will have to stop advertising about being able to powdercoat.
been blasting and powdercoating parts for different clients for 2 days now haha.

even powdercoated a 16inch harley sportster real wheel.
challeging because of the small oven.
Had to redo it, and figured out a better way to place in the oven, and made a "handle" through the hub in stead of holding it on the inside and putting it in a over preheated to 200°C :p

also did a bargain, client of mine had motorcycle lift in his garage that he wanted to get rid of, bought it for 65€

and made some steel shelvings for a client and powdered them matt black.

love how fast the turnaround is when you can do alot in house :)

Nice score on that lift!!

For my workshop, I want an oven... between motorcycle and bicycle projects, I can put it to good use. Here is something that I am working on now (still need to decide on what engine I will use...) :

Fantastic set up you have there Koendd, I wish I had that kind of space. But then I'd only end up filling it with more bike projects than I have now...
How do you heat the space in the winter?

thx!

and I have a woodburner. get's warm in a radius of 2 meter around the stove :p

there used to be a very big fuel oil burner here but took it out when we bought it.

so it get's quite chilly in here in winter.
doesn't help that the shop has been build and rebuild in about 5 times so lots of different spaces, no insulation, large gaps everywhere.
It's doable with the wood burner when there's no wind. If there is wind, you can feel the wind blowing through...

It's bad manners to not post a pic like that and not include a link to the build thread.

So, long time since an update!
Finally found some time and money to do some structural work to the shop.

the (huge) workshopgate was bugging my for a long time. It was to big, loud, not sealing… and the bottom completely rotten. So it had to go.

Started removing the “skin” of the gate. After that took the wall down

my daughter wondering what i just did…

much better allready!

and finished for now with a cheap but very nice wooden double door and a free double glass window.

the wall will be painted in a few weeks when its all dry enough.

Yes some similarities, but yours has a mid engine. Mine is older model and has a motor in the front wheel hub.

Nice shop and build projects!! My shop is similar and contains a mix of BMWs, Hondas, Suzukis and Kawasaki. One I am searching for is an early 50's Jawa 350 Perak or Ogar. If you happen across one I am ready to deal, even if I have to ship it from Europe to the US.

I have also scratch built my own recumbent bicycle design. Being of Dutch origin, I called the model name Voets-1st.
