New Wright Tools....Wow!

Switched to WrightGrip wrenches a while back at work. They make EVERYTHING else I've ever used feel like ****.

There is a chain of stores called "Tools R Us" in California that stocks Wright. Over the years Wright has saved me a couple of times. Believe me Wright tools are beyond durable and extremely strong.

Where did you buy them? Can you just go right to the factory and buy them?

I purchased mine from Amazon, can't beat the price and I'm a prime member so the free 2 day shipping was nice. I believe mine shipped from the Chicago area, I was curious if they would have dropped shipped them from the factory.
As far as I know you can't walk into the factory to make purchase's.
For as the action of the ratchet I haven't had the chance to try it out yet but it is very smooth in my hands. Monday I will be receiving the 3/8" drive model.

wright has a great combination of quality,beauty and function and im crazy about them. i buy them on ebay and i hav'nt broken any even after some really hard use.

Wright is one of the most under-appreciated tool brands, outside of industrial users, out there. I had a few random pieces handed down to me from one of my grandfathers, but I just thought they were some old defunct tool company until I came here. I picked up a few sockets and ratchets here, got a set of their metric wrenches, and now I pick it up whenever I find it.

IMHO, they're just as good (if not better in some categories) as the truck brands for basic drive tools and wrenches, without the outrageous pricing. The only drawback they have is that they don't offer things like stubby wrenches or deep offset box ends. I wish more folks in the mechanic's trade would look at brands like this instead of getting mired in debt with the trucks.

As I unload my Snap-on stuff I replace it with the Wright Tools equivalent.
All of these arrived today from Amazon.

Th Wright tool Part #360 9pc 3/8 & 1/2" drive hex bit metric set. I mostly wrench on motorcycles and use these often.

The Wright Tool part #354 6PT shallow metric socket set.
When I sell my Snap-on deep wells they will be replaced by Wrights.

Wright Tool Part# 466 1/2" drive 6PT shallow metric socket set. These were not advertised as imapct (On Amazon) but that's fine with me, they work just as well on ratchets and my Snap-on 1/2" drive deep wells are impact too. Plan on selling the Snap-on's and replacing with Wright.

I have a e-mail into the company now asking about the short (9mm) socket. didn't look correct to me either. I had Snap on for years when I worked on other folks motorcycles but I gave that up and today I don't like working on my own stuff. Not to much Snap on stuff left

I was going to list the stuff on this site but you need 100 post first. The tools I sold already I listed on my Facebook and Craigslist and it was all gone in less then 4 hours. I priced it all at 1/2 retail and it still sold quickly.
For what I sold 1 Snap on 1/2" drive for I was able to purchase 2 new Wrights. I'm not a "tool *****" and I like supporting local business, I work down the street from the Wright Tool factory.

I have a e-mail into the company now asking about the short (9mm) socket. didn't look correct to me either.

My guess is the shorter socket will have a different date code than the 8 and 10mm that surround it. I have some sets with date code variances in my toolbox also, they work just the same. Then again, they might be getting picked on when the lights go out by the taller and younger sockets.

Cant find any in the Y-uk, they look amazing quality. The torque wrench looks like snappy but with a better ratchet head, just my opinion

Today's new arrivals and still 1 more delivery to come.

The 1/2" deep impact sockets are Snap On and I have them for sale locally right now. When they sell they will replaced with the equivalent Wright Tool models.

No chance to use them yet, just received them this past Friday. This weekend I will be replacing struts & shocks on my car and that will probably be the first time use.

FoxRacing, since you seem to be the Wright Tool Guru, any chance you could point me in the direction of where I might find a full polish long pattern 27mm combination wrench (Part no. 12-27MM) for a reasonable price? I want to fill in some larger sizes with Wrights since the snappy price on wrenches that big is tough to swallow and I would like to compare the Wrights to my snappys but it seems anything over 24mm is impossible to find in full polish or the prices are through the roof.

Yes the 1/4" drive stuff has a detent machined in each socket

I did call them about the short 9mm socket, the lady I talked to needed the part # from the particular socket and I didn't have it on hand while on the phone. I do need to call them back with that part # and get it replaced.

When shopping on Amazon you really need to read the product descriptions to see what you are getting, some of the stock photo's are completely wrong. I have been posting the correct photo's on products I have been purchasing. 1 example here is the Wright part#360, if you look at the stock Amazon photo it shows the wrong product. I can't believe how nice the chrome looks on the ratchet and sockets. I may end up with one of those ratchets. Do they make a 1/4" ratchet in double pawl?
