I have a question for those of you that have the Pro series cabinets in a corner set. I would like to do the slatwall, but based on the two sizes the pro slatwall comes in, neither would fit without modification. The 56" is too short, and the 84" is too long. It seems I would need 80" to get the slatwall right to the corner. I could buy the 84" slatwall and cut 4" off and then try to find some suitable trim to cover where they meet in the corner - but the slatwall is already expensive (and I don't want to ruin the finish).

What are others doing in this case?

Is it possible to adjust the doors on NewAge cabinets? I have a bunch of doors that don't close properly. I probably have 6 doors that are like this. According to their FAQ they say to make sure the cabinets are level and if you still have issues submit a form for a damage replacement. I have probably 4 cabinets that have issues, one of which is the tall end cabinet, so this sounds a little extreme and they're already installed and mounted so I would hate to have to redo that. Attached pictures of two examples, but there's a bunch like this.

NewAge guarantees their cabinets to be free of manufacturing errors. Looks like your cabinet got racked out of shape. Measure from corner to corner across the front of your cabinet, a square cabinet should measure the same in both directions. Loosen all the bolts and get the first cabinet square and plumb. Then move down the line insuring the cabinets are level square and plumb.

Call NewAge they can help you if you have a mounting issue or a manufacturing issue. Here is the mounting video from NewAge.

You're right! Thanks!

I just measured one of the ones that is the most off and it is out of square by 1/8th of an inch. It's not a lot, but this is one of the smaller top cabinets. I'll square them up and see if that resolves the issues.

Hello all!

New member, looong time lurker.

I have been actively looking at these New Age Cabinets.
Black with bamboo. Model # 56020 (at least from home depot's web site)
Its priced at $2,589.00.

I want to purchase those blue storage containers, but home depot only sells a random mix of accessories. I am also interested in the LED strip lighting. (whom should I contact regarding that?) I love all the information posted here, and would rather support a person than a corporation. I would post my email but I am unsure if that is against the rules here.

Lastly, for light garage work, will the 18 gauge be sufficient? Or is the 24 gauge worth the added cost?

(ps, my wife and I are ready to purchase ASAP, the BARE garage is now insulated rocked/mudded/painted/etc... :D )

Thank you all in advance.

Pro series cabinets in black were an exclusive color for Home Depot. They have been discontinued, some of the remaining stock is available on ShopNewAge.com the corporate site.

The Pro series cabinets are larger than the Bold cabinets. Think of the Bold cabinets as 7/8 scale Pro cabinets. The 18 gauge sheet metal used in Pro cabinets is twice as thick as the 24 gauge Bold cabinets. The Pro cabinets offer self closing doors and drawers. I sell 3 times as many Pro cabinets as Bold cabinets.

LED strip lighting can be purchased locally as a cheaper alternative to the NewAge under cabinet led fixtures. The NewAge lighting fixtures are about 25 bucks per cabinet.

Hope this helps. Thanks for your support of small business.

Wow, thank you for that detailed explanation! :rocker::rocker::rocker:

I'm for sure going to get alternative LEDs for them, I don't know why that idea hadn't came across my mind :dunno::thumbup:

Anyways what is the average delivery time to CA?
I am picking out my set tonight and trying to have the order placed sometime before the end of this week :bubbrubb:

NewAge quotes 1 to 3 weeks for deliveries. There's always that chance of delays with the current medical crisis. You will be charged tax because there's a warehouse in Southern California.

I appreciate the fact your wife is interested in making a purchase. Lots of guys ask for a quote, then have to cut back on cabinets, after the better half figures out how much they're spending.

Haha, yeah I am lucky, I got a good one :)

Okay so I was on the corporate website last night, but after picking the backsplash the website kept freezing up on me.

Just tried it again, and again after clicking the "add backsplash" it freezes up. I can scroll up look at the website but cannot copy paste text nor click any hyperlinks or drop downs.

I am looking at the:
Pro Series 10 Piece Garage Cabinet Set
Bamboo Worktop
In the Charcoal Grey color.

I also would like to buy those Yellow/Orange storage bins I saw you post in a different thread ( I can post the link if needed), would those fit into 1 of the tall cabinets?

Lastly, I also need the 12 maybe 20 piece to go with the backsplash. I can not find them on the corporate website. Is the website a lil funky or is it something on my end?

Feel free to PM me. Also, do you get referral credit? if so please send me the information needed so I can ensure I add it.

If it wasn't for all your posts and pictures we might have went a different route. :)

They are constantly upgrading their website trying to add sales of the outdoor line and accessories. The backsplashs go in and out of stock monthly that might be the problem, updating the inventory. Who knows. :dunno:

I am looking at the:
Pro Series 10 Piece Garage Cabinet Set
Bamboo Worktop
In the Charcoal Grey color.
These are the currently offered sets. You can sub in more tool cabinets, all split cabinets or all base cabinets.

The first one is model 52151. Three lockers, 3 wall cabinets and one each of the base variations.

This is model 52098. Two lockers, 4 wall cabinets, 1 split cabinet and 1 split cabinet.

Better send a link to the post.

I think everything is a little funky these days. Follow this link to the slatwall backsplash accessories
.

 What's a referral credit? I'm a distributor, I purchase from NewAge and sell online at ShopStorageCabinets.com.

John,
my appologies on misunderstanding your role with them.

You're a stand up guy.

I will pm you today or tomorrow.

I am leaning on the 52050 model with backsplash.

184 inches will fit the wall perfectly with one cabinet at an L instead of a straight line. (Hmmm maybe I should order an additional tall cabinet...)

So it was 52050 or 52098 my wife and I decided on.

The only listed difference is the 2 different small cabinets. (Copy / paste from their website, as your description was a little bit different)

The 52050 has:
1 x 5-Drawer Tool cabinet
1 x 2-Door Base cabinet

The 52098 has:
1 x 5-Drawer Tool Cabinet
1 x Multi-functional Cabinet

Do you prefer one over the other?

ahhh I got to go to work. I will reply with the links ASAP.

Thanks again John!
Have a good one

Is there anywhere I can purchase the old style of the Bold 3.0 drawer base cabinet? I'm planning on wall mounting all of my cabinets without the legs and since the new rolling drawer base cabinet is smaller in each dimension, it will look a little off when wall mounted.

NewAge no longer makes the Bold base cabinet with drawers. NewAge does all the warehousing and shipping, so there isn't any left over stock in the system.

Sorry dude. :dunno:

I have been thinking about adding a couple Pro cabinets to the collection and came across this thread when doing some researching. Is there much savings you are able to offer on a 2 or 3 piece custom set from current individual piece pricing?

I was thinking about ordering SKU #52004 and possibly SKU #52000. Dependent on any additional savings you are able to offer, I could add another upper or another base.

So it appears all of Newage's sets now come with those stupid rolling lower cabinets... lame.

And in Canada the stock of any individual cabients (lockers or wall cabinets) comes and goes and it super random. They had red wall cabinets, now they dont. Makes it difficult to come up with a plan when they're constantly changing styles, stocks and colours.

The best way to purchase NewAge cabinets is to buy a set. NewAge packs smaller cabinets, like wall and base cabinets, inside the tall locker cabinets. This reduces the overall shipping costs and saves you money.

Shipping is free of charge, and everyone knows that means the shipping cost is built into the price. Everyone knows that, right.

The best way to purchase individual cabinets is to order them when they are on sale from ShopNewAgeProducts.com. They will charge shipping on orders under $499.99. There is not enough profit in a couple of individual cabinets for me to offer anything other that retail.

Is there any way to confirm what is in stock as far as pro cabinets? Also would you want to quote this order or too small? I cant do a set in my garage as space wouldn't work.

(3) Pro 36" lockers
(2) Pro 15" lockers
(2) Pro 42" Cabinets
(1) Pro 42" Tool Chest
(2) 42" stainless top
(1) 42" bamboo top

I have heard newage pro cabinets are on backorder until October, if so this really screws up my garage remodel as I need cabinets asap.

I like those 5 drawer 42” cabinets. When did they come out? I have 6 of the 28” inch so I guess I would have to buy 2 to fit the same space as 3 of my 28.” Not a priority but one day when I have money to burn or another place to put the 28” set.

I get inventory updates everyday.
NewAge has asked distributors to not take orders on out of stock items. They would rather ship orders complete than have an item on back order. Just like me they don't want to hold someone's money for 3 months or more.

Also would you want to quote this order or too small?
Most of my quotes end up in the 3 to 10 thousand range. Your list comes to 6229.89 retail. If I had your email address I could send you an invoice to purchase from.

(3) Pro 36" lockers
Gray and Red in stock,
Platinum back ordered will ship in 49 to 55 days

(2) Pro 15" lockers
These are in gray only and are in stock
(2) Pro 42" Base Cabinets
Gray is in stock, Red in stock,
Platinum back ordered will ship in 45-51 days

(1) Pro 42" Tool Chest
Gray back ordered will ship in 82-88 days.
Red preorder will ship in 89 to 95 days.
Platinum preorder will ship in 87 to 93 days

(2) 42" stainless top In stock, are you sure you don't want an 84" worktop?
(1) 42" bamboo top In stock

I have heard newage pro cabinets are on backorder until October, if so this really screws up my garage remodel as I need cabinets asap.
When NewAge offers a new items, they gauge the interest and adjust their orders to meet demand. This doesn't happen overnight. Cabinets are shipped in containers from South East Asia, that takes a while.

Great thread, I've read through many of these posts and the pictures in particular are very helpful. I'm a big fan of supporting small business, kudos to you!

John, sounds like the Pro platinum color are currently not available correct? Based on the 36 inch lockers being backordered.

The main New Age site is running a sale until August 12th, appears you're matching their prices...... will your prices go up after the sale on the main site ends?

thanks much :)

NewAge runs sales monthly and asks distributors to list prices to match the NewAge site. I'm asked not to advertise prices that undercut the corporate site.

I quote prices based on my cost, plus enough profit to keep the business running. So it doesn't matter what other sites list as prices. I ship cabinets free of charge, because shipping is built into the final price. You may find sites that charge shipping on cabinet sets.

Individual Platinum 36" lockers are back ordered. NewAge packs smaller cabinets inside the lockers for all sets. At the same time they have individual lockers with nothing inside, for those who only want the lockers.

Hope this helps, thanks for your support of small business.

Does anyone have any of the 42" uppers or lowers installed yet? If so, thoughts? Also, anyone have the wall mounted pro racks? And lastly, is the plank flooring in-stock? Any prices discounts over retail on their site? I need about 600 sq ft.

Any chance anyone has any pics showing the popular Harbor Freight 44" tool cabinets mixed in with the lower NewAge pro cabinets? I'm specifically wondering about height and a possible shared countertop. It looks like from the specs, that the HF cabinet is a couple inches higher than the NA, so it might not be realistic to have the HF cabinet able to roll in and out under a shared countertop - unless the NA are mounted to the wall?

Anyway, just looking to see if anyone's done this given how popular both options are. I've seen several pics with the red NA upper cabinets over the red harbor freight tool boxes and those seem to look pretty nice.

Here you can see a HF 52” rolling chest next to my NA bench and lower cabinets. I found the height of the HF chest to be too high to set my NA workbench to match, much less roll under.

I only have one locker at this time since I needed to clean up the garage as I go and this Pro 36”w 24” 80”H locker is the hub for my scissor lifts pump and Air hose reel.
Cabinets great, soft close hinges, predrilled hole at the bottom for electrical. A 3/8” gap at the back of each shelf for running air or electrical to the top shelf.
IMG_1966.jpg

2-3”? Gap from the closed door to the front edge of each shelf, A smoooth finish texture - if you want to mount magnets be sure your magnets are NOT glass mirror smooth. They will slide no matter how strong the magnets are.
IMG_1965.jpg

I received 2 yard tool hangers that clip onto the same tabs the shelves rest on. I use them to hold extension cords for now.

In my twenty's I had a barber's chair from Chicago. It was heavy, full of hydraulic oil, cast iron and porcelain with black leather. It weighted a ton, my ex shipped it to me COD after the divorce.

At that time I had the barber's chair, an oak church pew, that I still have and a full size drafting table from the 30's. She really didn't like my furniture style.

Does anyone know if these rolling cabinets can be joined together? So have 2 rolling together?

And after attaching them can you put a counter top on them?

Or can you get regular legs to make them permanent?

If you are looking at the bold model 50041. The casters are bolted to the bottom of the cabinet, so you don't have to use them. To bolt two together shouldn't be a problem, you're going to have to drill holes. Then just use the casters on the corners.

The worktops from NewAge are sized to fit over 2 base cabinets and are 48" W x 18" D x 1" H. You would have to cut the worktop to fit. The base cabinets are 24"W x 16"D x 33.25"H. The rolling tool cabinet is 20-3/4"W x 16"D x 33"H.

Legs are not available to replace the casters. You could easily mount the cabinets directly to the wall.

Here's an example that shows what it looks like to mount the rolling tool cabinets to the wall. The rolling tool cabinet is smaller so it will roll under the worktop and between cabinet.

OK, I have been lurking around Garage Journal for several years now and have used it to help me source my new garage cabinets. With all the pictures, experiences, and helpful tips on this site, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered an 8-piece NewAge Pro set along with a Pro 2x8 shelf. I have to tell you that I am MORE than happy with my selection and the quality of these cabinets. I ordered through "Dittle Fart Around" because of all the helpful information he has provided on this site. Plus, I did not want to order something this important to me through one of the big box stores. John, thanks for your help in processing my order and being responsive to my questions.

Very Happy NewAge cabinets owner.

I used an angle girder with cutoff wheel and a jig saw on the corners. That backsplash is quality stuff, so I would advise anyone that needs to cut it, measure twice. I used the two pieces of side trim that was included to trim around the breaker box.

Other than the pucker factor of cutting up the backsplash for the breaker box and outlets, the installation was very straight forward. Again, I am more than happy with the outcome.

I came across your past post and was wondering if you might be able to provide some guidance on my earlier public post (as I have been unable to find this setup anywhere online and wonder if what I am suggesting is uncommon). Thanks for the consideration!

I am thinking about purchasing the NewAge Wall Mounted overhead storage shelves to mount against the wall above some slat board I have already purchased. The studs are 2 feet apart (4 feet on plywood board seams). I plan to cover one 12 feet span (3 x4 ft. plywood). Unfortunately, NewAge does not appear to sell a single shelf that spans 12 feet, so I need to purchase either 1x8 ft. and a 4 ft. shelf (or 3x 4 ft. shelves). I prefer the former, because there is a 1.5 inch lip around the boarder, and I may have some items that are longer than 4 ft. that I would want to store on the 8 ft. span.

Just a few questions:
1) Can anyone with these shelves (or has researched them) provide feedback on quality? I have the NewAge Pro Bold 3.0 cabinets already installed and they are pretty decent (I also have grey RaceDeck flooring). I also looked at the MonkeyBar shelves, but it appears installation needs to be hired out and they are fairly expensive from my consult. I am also considering the ProSlat ProRack, but the reviews have been critical of the quality and they don't look great aesthetically.

2) Any concerns on weight load of having two shelves on one stud (the end of the 8 ft. and the beginning of the 4 ft.)? I see each shelf is rated for 600 pounds each, so technically I think that would be a load of 600-1200 on one stud. Not sure, if I am understanding this correctly.

3) Any issues with the brackets fitting next each other on the second seam stud? NewAge says the 3.75 standard stud should be able to accommodate both brackets side by side, but wondering if anyone has done this?

4) Aesthetically, do you think that having the hanging bracket (wire) to the wall (as opposed to the ceiling) is going to look awkward? I could probably install to the ceilng beams, but need to check with the rafter spacing, whereas I know the wall studs work well.

5) One advantage of the ProSlat appears to be that you can hang items underneath them with the hooks, which you apparently are not supposed to do with the NewAge shelves. That said, I will have slat wall board beneath the shelves with plenty of hanger accessories, so I am not sure this is much of a loss. Do you agree?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Best,
Scott Spicer

It would be best if you posted this on the garage journal forum.

Hi Little Fart Around,

I am very interested in placing an order fro some New Age Garage Cabinets (Bold in Grey) for a garage rehab I am doing. Are you the right person to talk to?

Thanks,
James

Yep.

The best way to get a quote is to go to my website and add items to a quote instead of adding items to the shopping cart. This gets me your email address, so I can send an invoice you can purchase from.

I get lots of interest from people googling NewAge cabinets. This is a good place for reviews, good and bad. Like your request, people do join Garage Journal hoping to get a big discount. Little do they know there isn't a lot of profit built into NewAge's prices. I can save you 2 - 5% off NewAge's requested sale prices.

If you look under Alliance Vendors you find a 10% discount off retail prices for Alliance Members. To be an Alliance Member requires a $50 yearly fee.

ShopStorageCabinets.com – A great source for cabinets of all kinds, these fellas offer 10% off on all non-sale items to all Alliance members.

I need to change the verbiage to clear up the 10% off retail prices. The sale prices are already more than 10%, you won't get another discount over the price I quote you.
