Laughing through the tears.
My family has its fair share of stories like that.
They usually start with "I'll get it. Here, hold my beer ..... ".
Someday maybe I'll tell the one about my uncle, bats, a brick chimney, and a flight of stairs.

Glad you'll be ok.

Nines, Glad you survived mostly intact.

I have quite a few ladder stories from my 20+ years installing cable, satellites and network cabling, most of them painful or embarrassing.

My boss from my time in transformer shop, came in most Mondays with a new wound. The story usually started with "I had a few beers and went in the garage". They always ended with "then I pissed myself".

"How I got injured over the weekend" started most Monday safety meetings.

Don't ever let embarrassment stop you (or anyone) posting safety related stuff. You did something dumb and survived it relatively unscathed. We can all use that message.
Anyway glad you are OK. And obviously still working.

I agree, I just havnt had too much happen to me latley except for the 1/4" 4'x 6' sheet of aluminum falling on me while moving a cab around. The edge just barley missed me or it would likley been stiches.

Or while working wiring a couple of outlets using Klien wire stripers and managed to pinch the **** out of my finger.

Don't get hurt too bad Shane, I have some Baldor's for you to work on!

Dumbest thing I ever did in the shop was when I was adding more wiring circuits to my circuit breaker box. I turned off all the circuit breakers but brushed against the live main feed wires. That shock I will never forget!

Ok, here's another POO(project of opportunity)

My shop sink that was here when we moved in is plastic and has a crack in the bottom. Well it's been leaking ever since I got water running out here. With all these projects going on, I've been washing my hands more frequently and the floor has been staying wet in that corner. I decided I would do something about that. The tray is a spur of the moment idea and may be swapped out for something better in the future. First thing I did was remove the drawers and check the slides. The two small drawers are centered, the deep drawer is offset and will need moving for the drawer to close properly. I flipped the box over and removed the casters next. Then I walked around the shop with a tape measure looking for a piece of wood to go on top. The old butcher block breakfast bar countertop was "L" shaped and the wing was just the right size. I broke it off and cut a square out for the plumbing. The shelf for the faucet was next, a simple 1x4 that I saturated with clear coat for some water protection. Only thing left is the drain plumbing, I need to pick up a fitting tomorrow.

Looks good Shayne.

Funny how you got more conversation going with getting hurt than with doing something constructive. I guess we all like "she can tell you about a plane crash with a gleam in her eye "

People love it when others get hurt, it's what makes the news. Nobody gives a **** about someone making something but let them break something and a crowd shows up with cameras flashing!

Perhaps I should post more blunders, lord knows I have plenty! lol_hitt

Does this happen to have anything to do with your selection of a user name?

That will make a perfect shop sink and fit in just right.

I for one still prefer to see the projects that get done. So no more falling off pallet racks just to get attention.

Not left handed, why?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Because you put the sprayer on the left side... :see:

The builder I hired to build my house in 2005 is left handed and every faucet is open to install based on left handed/right handed... just the luck of what I picked... and he installed everything LEFT HANDED. PLUS... he did the mark up for switches etc... they are all on the LEFT hand side of the door opening.

First comment thru the walkthrough with my attorney, wife and agent... wife says... "HE'S LEFT HANDED ISN'T HE"...

It all worked out... after my heart surgery... my right arm doesn't work well... almost zero strength... so I basically do everything lefty now. Who knew I would have my house ready for my issue 12 years after I built it.

I was just thinking how nice it would be to be able to spray with my left hand and operate the cold water pressure at the same time.
