l love spend other people's money..................Did you add a surge protector to the switch box? Generally they add small MOVs on the circuit boards but they are small and not enough protection.

The whole house and shop are powered by a hybrid inverter, part of the home's solar power system, that includes surge protection on both its inputs and outputs. I hope that will be sufficient.

Have similar protection, a $2500 surge protection box at the main but I also put large MOVs (in parallel) on the 5 minisplits I installed. The closer to devices the better.
