I have two pairs of them I have completely crushed stuck filters with them![]()
The key with those pliers, is to grab the filter as close to the base as you can. That way you're grabbing the steel portion instead of thin sheet metal.
Channellock also makes a pair with offset handles.
My primary oil filter wrench is the end cap type. My fleet uses Wix made filters for the most part and you really only need two end cap style wrenches to fit 95% of our filters.
