Some shots of lift with arms out and with one of the truck extenders on.
I think I am going to be glad I went the extra mile ($) for this lift.

Drivesit: Thanks. Waiting on electrical, then inside shop insulation and panels. Doors after that.

A few pics of my slow progress on the drive. I am using 2RC as a base.

Put some stuff inside. It will have to be moved when work is going on.

The last shot shows the light from the skylight with the film off one side. The wind got it. Inside pics were taken on a rainy day.

A few shots of me using my Navy skills. Getting ready for the second coat of sealer.
I checked on the heating panel and it should be shipping in next day or two.

Put the second coat of sealer on the shop side on Friday.
Did 2/3 of storage side today. It will get more shiny as it dries.
Pic 3 shows where I stopped.
The sealer gives a better gripping surface than bare concrete. Thats a nice bonus.
Also did a little work on the drive.

Clipped: i'm guessing you stopped at 2/3 rds so after the one side dries you can move your tractor and stuff to that side and finish the 1/3 left?

you are doing a fantastic job. did you have a goal to finish before Dec. 1st or new years? looks like you are getting very close now.

what's next?

Clipped: nice looking system. If you get a minute can you post detais of it with rough costs. It really doesnt get that cold up here but heated shop floors would be nice when i build my shop.

Fastenal ships pallets of big items for me in case you wanted other options to FedEx.

Cheers and thanks again for the pics

Drivesit: Sorry for the delay. Shop progress has been slow (electrical guy).
The heat is electric and is sized for the shop. It will be the sole source. Will post some updates.

Two weeks ago I put some OSB around the base in the storage side. Hope this will help protect the siding.

Found some items for the shop at an auction. Got a metal cabinet, 3 old army boxes (to be used for wall cabinets), A red cedar block for my anvil, and some running board brackets (to be used for shelf brackets) and a 24v siren for my Army Jeep.

CSRPen: thanks.
Rained on Wed. so builder's crew came and installed wall insulation and vapor barrier.
Manlift quit midstream so we loaded it with the Kubota in the dark. Tractor lights don't much good with the bucket in the way. Guess I need a light bar.

The past two days I got to make some sawdust and drive some screws myself.
I added some backing for a display shelf in the shop (2x6 above a 2x4), some 2x10s for shelves and air plumbing above compressor, some 2x6 backing for workbench bracing and some 2x10 backing for shelves in storage area.

Clipped: keep posting the pictures as you have time. looks like it's becoming a dream garage pretty quickly. i wouldn't have thought to put metal siding on the ceiling, but a few of you here have done so and it looks great. i also really like that skylight and i'm betting you are happy with it too even if it was a bit spendy.

just curious if you are running all the electrical in conduit or what is the plan?

nice picture of the garage from the house. I didn't see the cricket eaters so are some in the freezer?

Don: You are welcome. GJ has given me inspiration and I hope I can pass it on.
Drivesit: The ceiling was the easy way out, no painting, quick install and reasonable price.
The wiring is in the walls with surface mounted boxes. This gives a good solid mounting and is easier than recessed.
Haven't seen much of the bug catchers lately. they are spending more time in the corn fields and woods now.

Clipped: I have followed your project from the start. Your planning and research look to have been very successful. Every detail, so far, is well done and very attractive. I have been traveling from Delaware through Pennsylvania for about a year and a half. The scenery and buildings are very attractive I never get bored driving in around your state.
I am looking forward to your interior finishing, placement of equipment and projects inside. Thank you for the posts and good luck finishing up.

Clipped: i never thought of putting up metal siding on the walls too. it really gives your new shop a very nice clean look and i bet the reflective ability the metal provides makes the insides nice and light with very little expense.

with only a one man crew things are still progressing nicely so you definitely have the RIGHT one man.

good luck and have a great week and Thanksgiving.

Bob: Thanks. The inside will be less stylish than the outside. It will be working shop outfitted with auction and C/L finds. Most of it is made in the U.S.A. such as my IR T30 air compressor.

Drivesit: Lighting is good. I will get some pics when the doors go on using manual settings on the camera.

We passed my one man crew on Sunday while we headed out to look at a used John Deere Gator for my wife's lawn chores and shop shuttle. When we got home the wall on the storage side was done.
Doors next.

Clipped: like i said you hired the right ONE man crew. that guy gets it done. hard to see any flaws and i bet not too many by any of the workers.

just curious if the guys cutting the metal use hand tools or what saws do they use? also are the screws holding it in place have rubber or washers under their heads?

have a great Thanksgiving

Drivesit: Happy Thanksgiving. The guys use good hand shears and are quick with them. The screws have two washers one metal and one rubber.
