Just starting the electrical rough-in. I will use a standard trolley opener on a 16x9' door. Is there a standard for where to place the box for the opener receptacle? I was thinking of adding 3' to the end of the door when up?
Opener rail plus 3', since there is no 9' rail it will be a 10' so 13' back from the header and 12" off center. You don't want the outlet to end up buried by the opener. Assuming you are placing the opener in the center of the door.
You're talking breaker not receptacle, right? Since it's up high?

Connect it to the load side of a GFCI that is accessible. No do not put the gfci on the ceiling.
GFCI is cheaper than a gfi breaker.
Just to muck this up, how about moving your tracks up to the ceiling and using a wall mounted opener so you don't have to look at all that junk hanging in the middle of your shop...
