It's always fun when you're just one blown hose away from finishing a project! Great feeling when you still have time on the game clock and can get a replacement back in quickly.

I put my new Diamond C deck over to use hauling chem and stuff over to dads place.


The goal is to have this setup ready to spray corn and beans in a few weeks. The goal is to not have to handle small jugs anymore (tee hee).


I decided to use it to bring my skiddy to the field to pick rocks with my new to me Robo Rock Picker.


Ya know I had my doubts about this thing but it works very very well !!


Next up was to field cultivate a bunch so we can plant !!


I chased this rock around for a while and thought it was odd that it was moving !!


I got out to see what was up but he ran off before I could make a new friend. Or figure out how to bring him home for dinner


It’s dry enough here that it rained almost 1/4” and didn’t make mud enough to stop me from disking. It sure made a mess on the windows when it stopped raining and the dust came back before the tractor was dried off.


So that’s what’s at the end of a rainbow!!

Having a bad day ? Need to feel like a man again ? Fire this up and run a tank through without stopping and you’ll be smiling and cranky while feeling both strong and weak at the same time. I sure do like this saw. Being a one owner makes it even better. Needs a good cleaning though.


Show off and feet up in the mobile office. This GPS stuff sure is nice.


We rolled all the soybean ground like usual and all the corn ground that I’ll be bailing for straw this fall to minimize the amount of rocks I pick up with the baler. Hopefully.

Time to take a break and shove a pipe under a township road so we can shove an irrigator pipe through it this fall.


Last summer the front tires went flat every two-ish weeks and I’d pump them up no big deal. I pumped them up this spring and they were flat in three days. Okay fine. I pumped them up twice and said screw it and hit eBay up for some new tires. On the rim they were $15/ea more so yeah I copped out and got new everything’s lol.


Test plot rig setup and rocking it !! We did the soybean plot as the planter was setup already. Only 10 varieties in it this year.

Time to reshape a deep ditch into a nice shallow swale so the irrigator can cross it. Plus it’ll be nice not having a big ditch scar across the field anymore.

We even got the sweet corn planted !! Now we’re officially done planting. Unless we have some replant stuff but hopefully not. It rained a bunch yesterday but it wasn’t all that hard of a rain so hopefully it doesn’t crust over too badly.


The 7630 has a growl coming from the transmission so it got a ride on the dealership truck to see what’s up. I doubt this will be cheap

Usually yes but I’m guessing this will be a free ride as the bill will be high enough. I think over $10k trucking is free. Hopefully I have to pay the $500 pickup charge but I don’t know what the damage is yet. I’ll keep y’all posted lol

No problem. I’m an open book here !! If something is immobile and too large to drag on the trailer they have very well equipped service trucks that can come and do everything from simple repairs to a full blown engine removal. Most equipment is set up with a trans unlock of some kind so it can be towed even if totally dead.

The guy that has a field over near a friend's place ran one on his super rocky field and it was amazing how clean it got it with a single pass over the entire field. The hauled probably three or four dump trucks worth in a day or so.

We’ve thought about getting one but they’re close to $100k. I’ve got a buddy just south of me that has one and said he’d come up and do a small field this fall after the rye gets taken off. I bet off of 14 acres I’ll have 20 dump truck loads or more. He says on their rockier fields they’ve taken 3-4 quint axle dump truck loads off per acre. Bonkers amount of rocks up here in places !!

The last corn we planted is starting to spike through !!


Happy little guy. The tiny hairy roots got torn off when I dug it out with my fingers but I’m really happy with what is here so far!!


The chemical inductors and water tanks are 95% done !!


The visible tank has a leak where the male banjo connects to the valve so it needs to get drained and sealed. Other than that it’s all ready to rock !!


That’s exciting !!

Sort of. We have single phase power so we’ll have a big rotophase to supply the entire system with 3ph. I think the well pump will run wide open to supply the water. That being said, there may be a vfd for the well but I don’t remember. I know we talked about upsizing the pump and lowering the speed of it but I don’t remember what was decided. I am pretty certain it’s a 30hp pump though.

That 4955 was the hoss when I was a kid. The old man had a Super M-T/A, a 4020LP, and a 4840 when I was old enough to remember. He traded the 4840 in on a 4955, and then traded that 4955 in on this late model 4955. It was the main tractor till fifteen years ago? He should sell it, but it has sentimental value to him.

Depends what you are calling high or low pressure. We run 40-60 on most of our pivots. No water flows out of our wells, unless the pump is running. I would have to double check well depths, but the old man has eight wells. I have one....... The one here on my farm is a goofy setup. We have an old 504 NA Case engine on the well, and the pivot ran off of a roto phase the first year. We knew the power company was going to be running a new three phase line past our farm in the next year of two, so when we set every thing up, we buried wire for the three phase. In a rather odd stroke of good luck/timing, they had just finished building the three phase line past our farm the week before the roto phase blew up. I called the power company that day, because I did not want to buy another roto phase, and we were hooked up to the three phase the following week.

I built some extensions for the tiller so I could keep it just off the surface.


My chicken barn rep dude said the bed pack in the barn needed to be tilled and after a fair bit of discussion I gave in and said okay. I did half the barn lengthwise and told him I did the entire thing. We’ll see if anyone notices a difference


Leo and I road tripped to the garden sprinkler place and grabbed 1,200’ of pipe to be dug in at a later date to supply the new sprinkler.


We got home and I it looked like the camper threw up


Mama Bear and the girls were apparently making a good camper more good. She mentioned she wanted to paint and put a new floor in and ….. and ….. yeah whatever. Go ahead it’s a camper


I used the lawn mower to hold up some of the big chunks so I could cut them up easier. This thing is turning out to be a good buy


Going to have to start splitting soon. The basement is getting full

Pretty stoked to have the pipe and wire installed to feed and power the irrigator. A total of around 10hrs of digging to get the 1100’ of trench dug.


Playing the “20’ at a time game” until we got from one end to the other.


We used the lawnmower to pull the wire trailer up the hill. This is a conduit with wire already in it deal. Pretty neat stuff.


I borrowed/rented/stole this Deere 60G from a buddy so we could dig from both sides at once. I think I need to convince him he needs a new one so I can keep this one here

They’re all getting big !! The days go slow but the years go fast.

Miss Lily is an amazing operator for being 11. I love that the kids are interested in doing things outside on the farm. So much better than sitting in the house watching tv or who knows what else.

If you can put a mid mount mower on it it’s a lawnmower !! I debated on a 3046r but this seemed large enough. The next one will be a 3r series.

Remember how I mentioned the guy here who hauls corn with two seven hundred bushel Brent wagons behind his Magnum? He was unfortunately killed in a farm accident this week. Only 66 years old. Went to his funeral this morning. This is what led the funeral possession from the church to the cemetery.



Very sad, but I thought that was a neat send off.

Well “we” got the camper put back together and ventured out for the weekend with it.


Did the morning recycling. This was round two of boxes Saturday morning. It was a bad weekend to be a Busch Light in New Munich !!


Cooked myself an early morning snack after the boxes were recycled into heat.


Once I had my snack I started cooking bacon on the Wok for the rest of the group.


“Relaxing” on vacation isn’t easy for me so I had to do something productive once we got home Sunday afternoon.


A few days later it was dry enough to rake …. the first time. The 46’ BF Avery A and I got to spend some time together. Fun little rig !!


A few days later a few times after a few more rakings it was finally ready to bale !! Dang hills rolling things all over


I used Walter the road tractor to haul a couple loads home and it worked very very well. I like my big pickup
