Are those robots getting cheaper yet?
I don't think we have too many bears around here. At least I've never seen one. I think they're mostly North of us. Frying 15lbs of bacon is enough to make just about any carnivore drool though so thank goodness they're not down here !!Is your area too cleared out for bears? Wondering if frying 15 pounds of bacon is enough to bring one around?
Watching them work with this "little" 315 Cat made me realize how tiny our Mini-Ex really isisnt it amazing how small the bucket looks as the machines go up in size? then you realize its basically a 2.5t dump truck bed scooping each time.
The fields are all green and everything has germinated. Some of the areas were a bit slow to start because of how dry things are but it's all growing nowBest of luck with the new home build!!
fields starting to green up yet?
We unloaded two robots and the supporting gear and they run in the $500,000 neighborhood for a pair of them. So not really but the price hasn't gone up much in the last 5yrs either. The tech on them has gotten quite a bit better though !!!Are those robots getting cheaper yet?
We're looking forward to watching the house go up as well !!!Mike, looking forward to watching the dream house go up. I like seeing all the heavy machinery photos you post. Lots of activity this summer out on Quaker road!

Just the foundation. The house will be a two story slab on grade with infloor heat so the ICF's will be nice to not have to set up conventional forms, tear them down and then insulate the foundation anyway. Seems to make senseAre you using ICF for the build or just the basement?
For why praytell ? We have fiber to the home out here and I can get up to 1Gb if I wanted to pay for it. We continually are getting bumped up as we pay for the lowest package. I think it's 80x20 if I remember correctly. Plenty fast and I use the snot out of it.get starlink yet?

$78.91/mo for the package we're on. I just looked it up and the 1Gb is $239/mo so not bad for what it is !!sigh. look at mr fancy pants with his 1gb fiber for 75 bucks a month. carry on

What would you use to get the turds to the tank if not Schedule 40 Waste/Drain/Vent pipe ??Weird seeing the different building techniques. I run heavy equipment and the company does a ton of foundations, drainage, sewer, water, etc. There’s no way we would be allowed to use white pipe for sewer/septic and we aren’t allowed to put a 90 T in a sewer line. We would never use that black pipe for drainage either.
I purchased a fancy flying camera recently so I'll be able to do that with my own once I get it running !!I love the camera on pole view of your new home build and I’m sure it will be great for kids and family get togethers for many years.
Isn’t it about time your relative flew his drone over your fields to give you (and us) a birds eye view?
hope you are enjoying your weekend.

personally i wouldn't use flex drain tile around me house. i'd go form a drain or PVC. flex just collapses too readily and you cant send a snake down it to clean it out.

Mike, your qualifications for determining what type of weekend you’ve had made me laughI just ate an entire ring of bologna for lunch. Great weekend so far !!!!!
Huh. I've got around 200,000' of that same stuff underground laid with the tile plow. I think it'll be fine. It's bedded with LOTS of gravel and sand to keep it clean. Not worries about collapses at this point I guesspersonally i wouldn't use flex drain tile around me house. i'd go form a drain or PVC. flex just collapses too readily and you cant send a snake down it to clean it out.

I mostly plan to take still pics, no videos at this point. You're still welcome to come up and film !!!aww man you bought a drone. now i got reason to come up and fly during harvest
The new skiddy has A/C and it works great !! I hate the heat as well .... I move slowly and feel like a puddle at the end of the day when it's over 85F. Yuck.I guess your really not gonna like me when I tell you that we have unlimited fiber for the same price....
You must have very different soil than here. Every house built here uses black drain tile. If its installed correctly with gravel it holds up fine. Even the 40+ year old drain tile around my current house is fine.
Jblnut, does your new skiddy not have A/c? I don't do well in the heat so I'll be glad when this hot weather passes. Today is supposed to be the last of it and then cooler next week.
Also, I thought you were looking at a bigger lawn mower but I didn't think you were gonna go that big.![]()

The farmers get all the good stuffi pulled all the black plastic home depot **** out and put PVC in. the black stuff was crushed and not flowing. might be just the junk that home depot sold vs the good stuff the farmers get.

Oh I love Bologna !!!Mike, your qualifications for determining what type of weekend you’ve had made me laugh.
I’m looking forward to seeing the house go up. I hope all goes well.

Bologna on the right, Wieners on the left !!!i'm not sure what a ring of bologna looks like (is it a package about an inch thick), but with all those cows you raise to sell to the butcher i'd imagine REAL 100% steak hot dogs might be more your style. if hot dogs are called MYSTERY MEAT I can't even imagine what they put in bologna (just sayin).
speaking of health are you fully 100% recovered after your COVID? also did any of your family members ever get it?
sounds like you've got a new toy and happy to hear you will posting up more videos of your property (and I'm guessing it will really help you and dad see what's going on too).
cheers!!

No idea on part number but it is ADS pipe and I can jump on it without crushing it![]()
I dunno dude. We've literally laid 200,000' or more of ADS pipe with no issues. I looked up NDS pipe and it looks like decent stuff as well for sure. It depends on the area. ADS only ships so far away, at some point NDS or others will be more economical as their plants will be closerthis is the **** im talking about. I guess ADS = cheap. NDS = quality?

i'm mainly curious if the big rolls you get on a commercial account have a different wall thickness than the stuff from the big box stores. FINE i'll bring some over when i drone to compare. put 5 lbs of bacon on the disk.![]()

It's a loooooong T and seems to be working fine so far
That black pipe is literally drainage tile. The 4" pipes that the gutters will dump into are non-perf and the 6" ring below is slotted to allow sub-grade moisture to get wicked away. I hate having water issues so this seemed like cheap insurance. I do not anticipate any issues as there is still 3' of fill under the drain pipe and water should never even get to the drain pipe. Perfect !!
I'm not trying to come off the wrong way here as it seems BUT I'd truly love to hear what you do in your area !!!
I purchased a fancy flying camera recently so I'll be able to do that with my own once I get it running !!
Today is the first sub-90F day in over a week so it is REALLY nice outside !! We're working in the chicken barn getting it ready for 43,500 chicks coming Monday morning. Mama Bear and the cubs went to her parents place for the day and I just ate an entire ring of bologna for lunch. Great weekend so far !!!!!

Nope didn't take it the wrong way at all !! I was genuinely curious about how you do it instead. I'd say the green pipe and solid drain lines are probably more "right" than what we did but this is what everyone does up here so it seems fine I guessI hope you didn’t take it the wrong way. I wasn’t knocking you.
Here we have to use green pipe for the sewer. I forget what schedule it is. Here are two examples
The footing drains are done like this around here. Most companies just use white pvc but the company I work for uses the green pipe since it’s stronger.

Looks like a sloppy mess in that one picture !! Sticky clay is gross to walk around in any kind of footwear![]()
