P&C 100 partial set never used

Very nice! My set is also incomplete but it does have the paper insert to tell us what we're missing.

I also have two P&C 100 sets in metal boxes, one just arriving this week via eBay. It was short two sockets but I robbed them from the other incomplete set.

My only P&C find of the week end. Small DBE. 3/8-7/16

Scored these metric beauties off the bay along with the adjustable! I didn't need another 8" adjustable so if someone has other p&c or plomb to trade I would be up for trading the adjustable !
IMG_1440.JPG

I now have 4 metric wrenches -13,15,18 and 20mm!

I only have found a 13mm combo in the wild.... I believe they are fairly rare but not unobtainable . I have never seen any metric sockets but will surely find some as the factory was not far from my house

I guess you left everyone speechless with your posts! Simply amazing! If you ever want to part with those, I'm seriously interested!

Nice finds on the metric wrenches, Smokeshow! I have two or three myself but like yourself, have never found any metric sockets.

I know this is an old post, but it's items like this that drive me nuts, because now I can never un-see that and will forever be looking for one.

Awesome piece, have never ever ever heard of or seen something like it....ever.

I hadn't either, till I saw it hanging on the wall. First thing I noticed was the pebble and knew Plomb made 4 ways but couldn't remember seeing a pebble design. I got closer and saw it was a P & C and knew it was going home with me. After posting it and others talking about it, I was reminded I had seen a pic of one before as someone here has it as an avatar!! but its one of my favorite finds for sure!!

Were the P&C 100 sets just a special marking or were there differences in how they were made?

If I recall correctly the 100 series was the last series they made before they closed up shop. If you look at the advertising, the most recent stuff is 100 series. Also the 100 series has the most modern finishes in regards to chrome versus unplanted, polished ends, etc that the older tools did not have

Here's mine! And just for kicks, I took a picture of my P&C adjustable wrenches. 😀

Interesting that metric P&C are hard to come by. I saw some this last week somewhere, don't remember where. Seems like it was long dbe, identical to proto. In fact, that's why I looked at it, but when I saw it was P&C I passed it up.

Keeping in mind that the P&C brand was discontinued in the late 60s, metric tools should be scarce. I have only 3 metric combo wrenches in my stable.

This statement speaks to the rarity of the metric tools. If Rileysan only has a few of them, you know it is rare because he usually has at least one of everything [emoji23]

Thought I might have seen that metric P&C wrench at the local buy and sell shop; I went in yesterday and looked again, as he had a 28mm Proto wrench that is missing from my set that I wanted to buy. (Totally useless and I know it, but it was missing from my set, so I had to have it).

Didn't see the the P&C, but he had a =v= craftsman box end metric, I think it was 14/15. Those aren't very common either. I left it there, I don't need any of those either.

Interesting that the 28mm showed use; on the open end. 28mm is known to occur on one model of Ford pickup front end steering components, so probably was used for that.

I have been cleaning up my 6D P&C top chest and moving my P&C socket sets into it. Here are a few photos for your viewing pleasure.

Very nice! :bounce:

I've been looking for an appropriate box to store my P&C in for a while now. I guess I'm in the wrong part of the country. Using a nice old (non-denominational) Huot box to store them in right now.

Since I've been playing with P&C for the past couple of days, I took photos of my wrenches as well.

First picture is of standard (flat shank) DBE wrenches. Second is round shank DBE wrenches, and third is a mixed drawer full of combo and DOE wrenches.

And finally comes the rarest of the rare - a metric socket. They apparently DO exist!

P&C 3018-M, 3/8" drive 18mm socket. Found while digging through a bin full of sockets in a pawn shop.

And for no reason whatsoever, here's a photo of my current favorite IPA. The taste is good, but at 8.6%, the alcohol content is great!

Yes... Yes I am.
Not too many P&C stacks made their way to Ohio, I'm sure.... :(

Don't misunderstand Smoke - those aren't common around here either. I drove 150 miles to the Seattle area to buy my 6D top chest and 140 miles to the central Oregon coast to buy that blue top chest that Smoke now owns. The P&C Toolmobile Smoke now owns was found by dumb luck only. I saw a vague picture of it in an estate sale listing and waited in line at 6 am so I could buy it. Lucky for Smokeshow I had to choose between the Toolmobiles (yes, plural) and my vintage Craftsman stacks.

The choice was not that hard [emoji23] you chose the craftsman stacks and I chose the plomb and p&c toolmobiles [emoji23]

Just one day after excitedly showing off my single metric socket, Mr. X shows me his "user" set in his car. My bubble is burst!
