Outstanding! I have one in a socket set I bought a few years ago from Goodwill but haven't seen another since. My P&C set with the same ratchet as yours came in a plastic box and is identical to this Fleet set (pictures borrowed from Google).
Brian

Thanks Brian. I have found P&C 100 sockets before (and traded them off) but this is the first 100 ratchet I've seen.

I don't know how many years P&C 100 tools were in production but the socket sets also came in metal boxes with the common open gear ratchets.

Vlchek and fleet had similar plastic sets.

Here's the two P&C 100 3/8" drive sets I have (in original boxes, that is).

The first set has the open gear ratchet in the metal box I bought off eBay and the second is the set I found at Goodwill for $7.99 that has the same ratchet like RubiconJK. Until you posted your ratchet, mine was the only one I had ever seen. I don't know what that means but I'm certainly curious if anyone else has that ratchet!

And if P&C 100 isn't your thing, how about this 3/8" drive box. Not mine but I got to touch it today.

Here’s a picture of my recently completed combo set. I picked up a big lot of p&c stuff some months back, and I’ve been slowly filling in the gaps since. Most from the flea market, a few from eBay. Set is all early wrenches- complete from 1 5/16” down to 5/16”.

Items from an old car swap meet Sunday.

Photo 1 and 2 include a flyer from P&C from about 1968 about fastener torque.

Photo 3 is the stuff from the meet. Mostly upgrading existing stock.

Posted this over on the Plomb thread but thought I'd share here also. Found a P&C marked WF-19, 3/8" drive extension today at the flea market. I've seen larger P&C marked WF wrenches, but this is the first small WF drive tool I've found marked P&C.

Hit the Steam-Up today. PNW or NorCal reps should know what I'm talking about. Anyway, pulled some pretty decent stuff at great prices. Should have put something in the pics for scale but here's an early Chevy Main Bearing 13/16 X 7/8 wrench with the Milwaukie Ore. mark and another tough one a mid 30's "heavy duty stub open end wrench".

I was there also, ran into Mr. X and had a nice time. Picked this up:

I have seen many of the Proto versions over the years, but never a P&C. I even had some drill points in the handle!

Well, I wasn't there, but I was a heckuva lot closer than NJ, and I am cross-posting this 6244 flex head speeder for you P&C guys who aren't subscribed to 3bay's flex head speeder thread.

That speeder is a cool find. I’m hanging onto my Plomb example.
I only found one unremarkable P&C socket yesterday at the Tahoe flea, but my neighbor picked up this rather large tire iron.

Cool finds as usual! Lugz 'm still looking for one of those Breaker/Speeders! Thoufght I had one once upon a time but can't find it if I did.

BMW, I have a version by JO Mfg. Co (also marked Clauson and JOIC) with the patent 2310759 Applied 1940, Granted 1943 to Ira C. Clawson - Los Angeles, CA, no assignee, listed, but mfg IS listed as Jo Mfg. Co. - South Gate, CA

Its become my "Got to" hand drill as it WILL tuck into places no battery drill can! Also, particularly for wood, its fast and easy to make pilot holes and such.

I too enjoyed a nice day at Steam Up Saturday. I didn't get to spend as much time at the swap as I would have liked but still managed to find a few P&C items to go along with a couple full carts of much heavier treasure. I spent much of the day entertaining my two year old grandson who was enjoying his first Steam Up. He liked the vintage cars, trucks, tractors, and trains better than the swap vendors but he did put up with a quick pass through in the afternoon and found a bell he liked.

P&C finds were three sets of pliers, a rusty 1236, 1206 stubby cutters, and some 1243 water pump pliers. Also a Pebble 4011 puller cross bar and a couple 3/4" drive sockets. It was a good day. Ed.

Nice finds Ed! I was not there and rileysan is going today so your competition is limited [emoji23] glad to hear the next generation is enjoying the swap meets like we do! The puller looks like it was a plomb or proto and was ground down and restamped??

Thanks Smoke, the puller was definitely a re-stamp. Something for people of all ages at Steam Up. A real family friendly event. Grandma and Ez riding the train...

As Smokeshow eluded to, I made it to the Steam-up this afternoon only, as I had other things on my plate this weekend.

BTW - if you're in or near the Pacific NW, you really need to plan a trip to Antique Powerland, a heavy equipment theme park with multiple museums located in Brooks, Oregon (~40 miles south of Portland). The Steam-up is an event dedicated to all types of steam engines as well as just about every other kind of vintage tractor you can imagine. But I digress ...

I only had a couple hours before vendors started shutting things down but I still managed to find a few decent items, none of which were P&C. What I did find was a well-used 3/4" drive P&C breaker (not pictured) and a beat to hell P&C 100 1/4" drive socket box with a mixed set (only 4 P&C 100 sockets were present). So I decided to spice things up a bit with a group photo of some of the better P&C items I've acquired this year.

- 1/4" drive P&C 100 socket box and 4 sockets (I paid $1 today)
- 1/4" drive P&C 0246 ratchet I got off eBay last month for $13.50 shipped. Yeah, I know ...
- P&C 1/4" drive socket box which I think is for the set with the 0246 ratchet, acquired at the Portland swap meet back in April.
- "P&C Tool Co. Milwaukie, Oregon" RO418 9/16" offset box wrench from the late 1920s.

Found this the other day. Not exactly sure what its for, but kinda looks like a short distributor wrench? Kinda rough shape, but can still make out the p&c stamp in the back. Any ideas?

I found this grind off pebble puller at a Bay Area estate sale this morning. It looks very Plomb-like but came with a Proto bolt.

Besdides the pic Rileysan posted, you can go to the P&C tools website -pnctools.com - in the first couple of catalogs at the very beginning there's a good illustration of the 9/16 version of the tool's use in removing the Model T crankcase.

I took a four day weekend so I could travel over to the East side of the state to visit family and while there met with fellow GJ member Snaparxon for a major tool trade. He had quite bit of Plomb and P&C and I had Snap-on and Mac boxes to trade. It was a good trip and fine visit. Here are a couple pics of what I brought home. The Plomb and Proto boxes are cool and the Cleveland drill and Reamer cabinet is awesome too! But back to the P&C...

The P&C 1" Space-Lite breaker bar is a really great piece. I guess Proto Lite kind of rolled off the tongue as a name for their aluminum alloy rats and breakers but P&C went with Space-Lite which is pretty catchy as well. The P&C hammer and Pliers were very nice as well. Also SSDave threw in a tappet wrench as a nice bonus. Thanks Dave. Couldn't stay long as we had company coming today and had to get home but managed a flight around the area on Friday with my SIL as well which was a lot of fun. A few pics of the total haul and the P&C. Ed.

Boy Oregonrockcrusher, you really cleaned up! That plomb box is my favorite but the space light stuff is pretty rare! I saw your trades and looks like it worked out for both of you !

Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

Thanks Smoke. This really was a great trade for both of us I think. We brought some 'A' list items to trade and even though we had to give something up we both got what we really needed to improve our collections.

Great haul Crusher. Damn!

Thanks MR X. I don't have a very complete P&C collection yet but keep pecking away at it and am getting a few hard to find items along the way. Ed.

Those breaker bars have to be pretty scarce. I wouldn’t mind finding one of those or a Proto. I think I’ve seen the slip joint pliers before in Snaparxon’s posts, man that logo looks crisp.

I think the Proto-Lite 3/4" and 1" drive breaker bars and ratchets might be a little easier to find than the P&C Space-Lites but both are definitely pretty scarce. I see them turn up in a few tool box shots on the forum and I'm pretty sure member 48548 has a NIB Proto Lite 3/4" ratchet. They're out there.

I looked for a pic of the 8-C6 slip joint pliers in this thread and saw some discussion on them but couldn't find the pics but I'm sure they were here. They are in great condition for sure.

This is the first P&C Space-Lite I've ever had my hands on and I've been keeping my eyes open for at least a few years now. Pretty cool to be able to trade for one. Ed.

I believe very few of them have survived over the years... aluminum tools in the heavy equipment industry have probably seen many a cheater pipe on them and I think most were destroyed. I know they were also made in the proto la markings as well. Someone on here has a nos one. I will ask on the plomb thread.
