Finally spent some time cleaning up and put a lot of junk in the trailer to get out of the way. Probably build another shed over Christmas week if the weather is ok.

Had my little helper out today mocking up some new parts and making sure it all goes together.

Rest of the fam was watching sports ball and she said this was better including the hour of vacuuming and sweeping I made her do [emoji28]

Building a street car? That's pretty looking intake what are they going to have for filters?

Oh by the way the deck came out very nice, I hope you get to enjoy it before the snow falls.

They are for my 3.6 vr6, its a drag only car so no filters. The methanol and no lights keep it off the street, mostly.

Luckily we had some nice deck weather last week and looks good for later this week.

You can unload one of these by yourself with just an engine hoist and some extra straps. Will document that build once I am done.

Paul,

Are you a tall guy or a runt like me? HA!

Counterintuitively, it seems like tall people are used to ducking and are less prone to "head smacking". Height challenged people - based on my own personal experience - seem to crack their heads on objects more often due to not being used to dealing with that threat.

Looks good!

Best regards,

Scott

Sounds like I am more at your end! This car i can't get as far up with the door open as it gets close to the roof. Luckily the car I work on most should have a lot more room.

Played a bit on my last day off.

Nice to have more room. I will likely pull the drivetrain from the race car this weekend and be back in big single mode for a bit.

Finally got to use the lift for real work. Have to say that I should have bought one 20 years ago.

Also added some leds to the first bench. Need some more for under the other two racks.

Thanks! It took awhile bc I was deal searching for a long time. In retrospect I should have bought more of this lot so I have future/spare but didn't think about it at the time. Cutting them down was a bit of a pita but at least I have the height where they are well used.

Congrats on the lift! It was the best investment ever for my small shop :)

Any current vids of your VR6 running? That's a very cool project indeed.

I *really* need to do more work with it. I finally get my transmission back tonight so more work shortly.

I am pretty bad at vids, and we only had one race last year and I broke on the first hit. Hopefully back out there soon. I need to ruin this stock engine some more then I can swap the good one in.

Had a bit of a **** outing with the car. New trans did great ran 11.43@120 but clutch gave up on that pass and managed to get some luck with bye runs to get runner up at our last event. Will fix it over the winter.

Still hacking at the garage. It's a mess but managed to get a good deal on insulation recently and got the attic blown in. Deal was to the top of the joists but the guys went overkill and now I will kill myself trying to find the joists to stand on while finishing the floor!

image_50434305.JPGimage_50440961.JPGimage_67218433.JPGimage_67126273.JPG

Ends up around 14-16" thick but I'll probably be closer to 10-12 even with the 2x4 I will build the floor on top of. They did a nice touch with all the spray foam. This saves me countless hours.

The PAX have been good to us, if we can't get them anymore it's time for another van!

Ours is southwest facing. I think the way the wind comes from the NE it creates a low pressure zone at the door, similar to the base of the windshield in a car. Always piles outside even if the door is shut!

Everyone always says to leaf blow them out. Maybe that works in a garage with little/no clutter, but it just makes a mess for later as it gets them behind everything pretty effectively.

Other than some trim and electrical (outlets/lights) its done. All 440sqft of hoarding glory!

also had to rewire the spot bc the wiring was too short under the floor. Had to send the mrs proof it worked before I called it done.

done for the night, some more cleanup to make room for the next victim

Trying to organize more. I have a motor to build for this season and the clutter isn't helpful. E3DAD9EA-E206-484E-BBFE-4CAB7B9B4B46.jpeg

got one old toolbox emptied into the new one.

I am like the worst with cleaning up. I am really good at starting multiple messes. Its a skill.

New motor is for "baby nitro" use. Filled a stock block and we will see how long it lasts.

DAC1DFA6-438A-4AC6-ADEE-3A6EC82F5B08.jpeg

I will pull it apart, clean it all out, arp rod bolts... maybe port a head. Will see.
