Good job. It reminds me of my grandpas garage, he had everything on a peg board. But defiantly not as organized as yours.

One step further would be to take a picture of every tool and paste it to the pegboard directly behind the place the tool will be stored. That way when you are done with the tools you konw where they go and if a spot is empty you know what tool is missing....![]()
I'll bet he can take one look and tell if a tool is missing without pictures.![]()
WOW.... who would have ever thought the controversy over peg board!! Entertaining.

Wow!
My buddy Ken thought it would be cool for you guys on his favorite blog to see my pegboard; so I thought I'd check out the site. Thanks for the input everybody.
Some say it's too cluttered, while others say that I'm wasting space. One guy doesn't "like the stuff"......WTF????? What stuff -they're freakin' tools! They're GOOD tools, not the Harbor Freight Chinese **** that I see in many of the pictures on this site of manicured, sparce, and for my purposes, useless pegboards.
I've been a professional Carpenter for 25 years. I'm not a mechanic. I don't need to be told to put my tools in a toolbox (cute picture of your kid by the way rwhite692) -I've carried several for years. Before I set up this pegboard I struggled to find things when I needed them. Now everything is right at my fingertips. I still have tool boxes (7 of them for different kinds of work: framing, trim, drywall, concrete, etc..., and they're full), but when I'm working on a project at home or need something for a side job I don't have to dig through them to find what I need.
It's not cluttered and it's not a mess; unless you're a priss who thinks his garage should look like a sterile laboratory.
Oh, and hanging stuff in front of other stuff from the shelves like pots and pans is severely stupid.

I found this idea here on the GJ. Sorry, can't remember whose idea it origially was. But its magnetic! Two socket organizers on either side of a cheap Harbor Freight magnetic strip.

Because they can't reach the back! I have little kids, too, and they don't have the reach adults do...Nope.
Peg Board is what I use out in the garden shed for the small garden hand tools, the spool of trimmer line, the extra mower blade, etc.
My kid's workbench has pegboard. Even they can't stand using it, LOL:

Forgive me for butting in abomino, but in real life you really shouldn't have to defend yourself over the use of your pegboard.
is it really worth arguing over?
Pegboard arguments seem a bit trivial to me, personally.
I haven't seen any 'controversy' or one single 'argument' in this thread. Some pictures were posted, some gave their opinions, discussion ensued. What's wrong with that? Nothing that I can see
Don't see the point in making something that isn't there.
"Tool box? I don't need no stinking tool box..."
