Did you ever name the place? I remember someone from down-under calling it a shed and you liked that. Maybe "the tool shed" would work.

Pretty understated as this is a very nice place you have here.

A friend of mine who pointed out that I have cut or injured myself every time I've been at the shop suggested the name the "scar tissue spa and resort".

Pretty funny, but a mouthful and the abbrv. doesn't make anything.

There were already poles in front of the property so I didn't look into buried as an option. The power company ended up installing 2 new poles to get the power to the building (one would have worked, but we wanted to a save a nice old oak tree) and they didn't charge anything for it.

I don't think Americans visualise a shed the same way we do, I believe a shed to them is somewhere to park a mower, the kind of thing you buy from mitre 10 or bunnos on a Saturday morning and have built by the end of the weekend. A garage to me is somewhere you buy petrol or something attached to your house, a shed is any detached building no matter what size(even a sea container).

- The only upside to NOT being able to have children is extra cash (Finding the silver lining, ie. college fund = shop)
- A wife that starts as temporary admin help and works her way up to executive (Damn lucky)
- Living in a place where hard work can pay off (USA)
- Being always thankful (big guy in the Sky)

My weekend was spent emptying a storage unit to bring in and install a pile a metal line cabinets I picked up a dude that selling off his shop assets fast to raise cash. It was like a pot luck buy because everything was torn down and on pallets with no instructions or idea of exactly what you were getting. After the moving of everything with a 26' lift gate truck, the real fun started.

Think giant Lego box dumped on the floor. This first picture is some of chaos at the start, the rest is the current state of the results.

I was planning to save for a build and have it done this year but having a daughter quickly killed that for me. Hopefully this formula will work for me as well!

From what I know of these guys, a lot of wet wipes will be killed once you start detailing the contents!!

(Now I don't mean that there's also not some upsides to HAVING kids, but they are definitely a DRAW on your time and pocket book. For those of us that did OK WITH kids, we truly have it all.)

That is the replica of the bike that Orange County Choppers made for Snap On. They supposedly only made 1200 of them.

Unfortunately I don't have the exhaust vented to the outside so I haven't painted in it yet, but I can already tell that it is going to be a great cross draft booth by running it inside and checking out the flow and seal etc..

Being able to fold it up and free up a huge amount a space for daily use is very hardy and the fact that everything is on wheels makes moving the whole system around to find the perfect location easy. If I ever move, breaking it down and moving it will be a lot easier than a stick built booth.

I have extended it and collapsed the booth about 10 times and it is a snap. I love it. The test will come soon when I paint in it.

As far as price goes, I promised not to share that in the open because I worked with them a long time and got them to produce a specific model without some of the bells and whistles to get the price in my range and I also bought direct instead of going through a distributor since there isn't one here in Texas. I can say that it is in line with a traditional hard side booth.

I you want to know more about pricing just PM me and I can share more privately.

Just spent the last hour reading and I love your shed! I just wanted to comment on your latest injury to your shin, I did one like yours only it didn't look that bad. Anyway it seems the shin has little meat, little fat and poor blood flow so you must be very careful with infection. Mine happened in Sept and after 3 different antibiotics, many Doc visits, finally healed the following April. Afterward my Doc said I was very close to losing the leg.

Well, it is a little embarrassing. I was unloading a plastic building kit that I bought from Sam's club that was a floor display model. While I got a steal, this meant that I had to take it in pieces.

BTW..Someone will likely ask why I would need a plastic storage building when I have a nice new shop, so I will just say upfront that it was mean to be converted into an inside room for all of my buffing and polishing as well as my blast cabinet. These activities always generate a LOT of dust, etc. and will really dirty up a shop, so keeping it self contained is a good idea. However, it turned out to be a little too big, can't returned because of the crazy discount and will now serve as a outside junk shed.

Back to the injury. I was pulling a piece of the siding out of the back of the truck, gave it a little push and it spun around in the air hitting my shin with the edge.

But that isn't the real injury. The shin was just the beginning of my pain and suffering. We had JUST started installing security cameras the night before and unbeknownst to me, the whole incident was caught on film, including the "walk it off like a man" action. The problem with that is it seems my "walk it off like a man" is actually a "skip it off like a little girl" action. One of my close friends pulled the video off and put it on his Facebook page before I could delete it. I have been suffering mock-age and ridicule since then. My own wife even asked me if there was something I needed to tell her about my ****** orientation. Here exact words were,"it's OK honey if you need to get something off your chest because you are in the safety tree here and I will still love you. More like a good girlfriend probably, but still loved"

Anyway, I tried to explain that "walk it off" moves were very much like NFL touchdown celebration dances. Unique to the individual, designed to impress, full of flair and have nothing to do with ****** orientation. It seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I thought this was a kinder more gentler country these days. Sigh.....

I just got those same tire racks. Its the HyLoft 01031 folding storage rack. By far the cheapest tire rack I've found and only one review of it collapsing, due to a snapped lag bolt. So far so good though...
