Hello all,

I know its been discussed a lot and I've read a bunch of threads via the search function but there are so many choices out there I still don't know what will be right for me.

We are planning on building an addition to our garage in the spring (funds permitting) and my wife says "while we are doing this why don't you just get a lift installed". Music to my ears.

The heaviest vehicle I'll be lifting (that I know of) will be my F250 crew cab long bed gas engine that scales in at about 7400lbs.

I was thinking a 10k lift should be sufficient as I try not to work on other peoples work vans and such.

This will mostly be a hobby lift and doing some side work here and there.

Here's what I think my requirements are (may change, especially with everyones wise insights):

-10k lb capacity
-American made (preferably)
-High quality (don't want the rust issues I've seen on others)
-Affordability (would like to stay under 3k installed but I don't know if thats possible)
-Low feet but also capable of lifting a truck (lowest car is probably @ 4" to the pinch welds)

I have an Atlas 9KOH (9,000 lbs rated) that was right at $2K installed. I've had it for three years and I've been very happy with it. Not American made, but at your price point I doubt you'll find one that is.

I have a WORTH 2 post, American made in Texas, but I bought mine used. Ask Diesel Dan about his, as I bought it off of him and he just bought a new 10,000# 2 post from the same company. From what I can tell about mine is that it is built really well and built heavy.

Thanks aka Larry, I kinda had the same feeling, is the build quality pretty good? Have you had anything heavy on the lift? Our 10k in ground lifts at work are working pretty hard whenever I bring my truck in for service.

Thanks Kevin, I saw a couple threads recommending them but haven't seen any recent price figures. I've been looking around on craigslist for new and used lifts but have only found ones that I don't recognize the brand

IMO, the build quality is very good. Heaviest thing I've had on it is my buddies extended cab F250 and it lifted that with no issues.

I don't think there's any way you're getting American made for under $3k installed.

I have a BendPak XPR-10AC and it was $2600 shipped. I installed it myself as it's not too difficult.

The heaviest vehicle I've had on it is my Yukon Denali at around 6k lbs. and it lifted that real easy. The lift itself is in my opinion a quality unit.

I have a rotary spo10, it's great lift. 3 piece arms that will stretch out so there is 9 ft between lift points, Needed for my extended cab, 8 ft box service truck. Very stable. It also has 3in longer cylinders. 4700, bought it local was going to go with a revolution, made by rotary in China. Screw that once I talked to dealer about them

I have an atlas pv-10 in my garage. I know that it is not made in America but I think it will meet your other requirements. I have lifted an acura integra and a lowered camaro with it without having to drive the cars up on wood or anything. I think the minimum height is like 5.5 inches. I have also picked up some crew cab diesels with it with no problems. Only bad thing that I can really say about it is that some wider trucks are hard to get in and out of because of where the post hits the door. On trucks that have this problem I just leave it in neutral and roll it into position. I am lucky because greg smith is only 15 minutes from my house so I just went and picked it up and installed it myself.

I just finished installing a BendPak 10,000 lb. XPR-10A-168 lift in my shop. It took two full days (with the help of a friend) to assemble it, and another full day to wire it up. Not too bad considering neither of us old guys had ever installed a lift before.

The lift is well made but I thought is was made in USA when I ordered it. The label on the power side column says "Made in China".

You might check your local dealers for used lifts taken out of a dealer service bay. I got a used Mohawk 9000 pound lift installed with a one year warranty for $3000.00 The dealer also gave me the service records since he had installed it originally.

I have had my Ammco CV210, 10k pound two post 2-in1 lift now for five years in February and have been very happy with it. I have had a lot of vehicles on it and would buy another one. It is almost identical to its sister company and lift the Challenger Versa-lift. I lift my four door duramax and my son's extended cab duramax routinely and effortlessly. I have also had my brother's Dodge Cummins dually longbed on it a few times which it lifts well.
