You guys may remember my Custom Plomb Contraption hammer. I cut up a wrench to make the shank. But,I kept the other parts for an up comming CPC. We ended up using it today for the son in laws smoker project. Made a latch with it and a cream seperator wrench. Came out pretty cool. so I found that I had a Plomb paint gun!!! Ok maybe not really Plomb but It does have a pebble backfield just like Plomb Pebble!

Hell that sounds like a great time. I wonder how many Plombs I could get in carry on?

I picked these Craftsman badged circle u 1/2” sockets and extension off the bay. Cadmium plated from 7/16 to 1”. I had the speed wrench and ratchet. I still need to find a hinge handle, universal, short extension and also the carry clamshell box. If any has one, feel free to hit me up!

I have absolutely no need for this but it was too cool to pass up. It's unused and in near mint condition.

That's only the 3rd matchbook cover I've seen in 7 years of Plomb collecting, good score. Considering that they were meant to be tossed when used up, it's amazing any survive.
I have 2 in my Plomb collection.

There was a grand auto parts in the town I grew up in as well! They also were a full service show as well. It was in an old grocery store so it was a pretty large store!

So I picked this up about a month ago, a circa '37-'39 9990 tool chest. It's got it's original finish and original decals, plus a vintage oil change decal from a long defunct Pontiac dealership in Detroit. The hinges for the tray that lifts need a little tweaking, but not a big repair. The biggest issue, the seller had wiped the whole thing down with WD40. I've been trying to figure how to remove it while not changing the original finish.

Well done sir. Alot of Plomb oddity goodness there. That short extension is a tough one to find. I am still looking for one. Nice find.

RT those drawings are AWESOME relics of the Plvmb/Proto history.

J-Z you have the hard to find parts of the 3/4 set! Very cool!

Thanks guys. I'm still new to Plomb collecting, and only have a few other odds and ends. I didn't realize the rarity of the extensions, but I since usually only come across wrenches, I knew it wasn't something that I should pass up. Especially in 3/4 :)

Some big iron. A 3062 DOE. These wrenches are insanely thick.IMG_20200428_192202202.jpegIMG_20200428_192213890.jpg

I don't have a cool book of matches, and until today I didn't have a Plomb box to hold any of my Plomb goodness.
This guy needs a repaint back to green, but I finally found one here in the midwest. :)

Wow! I guess that only goes to show that we will never truly know what all is out there!!
Isn't that the truth. For a tool company that hasn't produced a tool in nearly 70 years we are still finding new discoveries. That is what makes the hunt so fun. Can't wait to get back out there and rummage through a rusty pile iron.

Nice finds!

Were the matches in any of them? - Lots of MB collectors pull the staples and ditch the "fire hazard"

Nice Don,
Glad to see it was picked up by a GJer. I was saving money for those Allen sockets but geez they went for way more than expected. I wonder who picked them up? Maybe Ragz or Tin?

Roy,
I checked the bid history. I actually outbid the buyer who had outbid you. I felt better about it because if you had been the high bidder I wouldn’t have wanted to bid. This one doesn’t have the removable plug but the one my tool collecting buddy in the U.K. owns does.

No worries. I wasn't super attached to it. I did own one that I sold off before I collected Plomb. Can't wait to get back to some real picking.
