I like those too!
A few screwdrivers arrived in the mail today.
-Don

All from the same seller I'm assuming? I had reached out to him when he first started posting to see if he had any of the 98xx drivers I needed (he didn't) but he told me he was able to save them all from the same location. Those honey holes are still out there! (somewhere!)

Has anyone heard of this deco brand?
Read here and following for some info, maybe even usable.

Plucked this knock-off type wheel puller (4415, 3/4"-16) out of the bottom of a box at the flea this morning, where I found it mixed in with a bunch of modern impact sockets. I'm sure this is not only the second knock-off wheel puller to be posted in this thread, but the only other example that comes up in a search on "knock-off wheel puller", "knock-off puller", "knock-off", and "knockoff", as well as "4410", "4415", "4418", "4420", "4422", "4423", "4425", "4430", and "4435", all their model numbers, is @3baygarage 's 4420 (7/8"-14) from 2020, which he called out by name in the text. As you can imagine, "knockoff" and "knock-off" presents a lot of posts about Asian copies. I was going to search on just "puller" but that's going to be a lot of slide hammer and legs types. I am guessing there are more without any text for the search engine to find them. They can't be that rare.

I’ve got a good selection of these, but no Plomb. Most of mine are Springfield. I would try to search vintage wheel puller.

Nice find. I think the Plomb just might not be quite as common. I've seen a ton in old estate tool collections that are usually unbranded unless they have the little box. I have several like S-K or other with the box. So seeing as how the Plomb are branded, they'd be easier to identify if there were more around.

To clarify, RJ, I am familiar with knock-offs and examples made by other Mfgrs have been posted in other threads here. @Oldtuleguy has a wonderful SK in its original box, for example. I was only talking about Plomb examples. I was surprised that my search only turned up one other. If others had been found and posted on this thread, I'd be surprised if someone took the time to call them out as a "wheel puller" without the "knock-off" descriptor, but searching on "wheel puller" is definitely going to retrieve dozens of the more common types, and I don't feel like working that hard to figure out if the knock-offs are really that rare or if people just posted them without any text.

I'm hoping those folks see my post and fess up (i.e., 'I posted these upthread,' or 'Here are mine,' etc). Or not, which will also be informative.

I think the Plomb just might not be quite as common.
You could be right. If that's the case, it's a good thing we found different sizes! Together, we've got two (2) of the nine (9) sizes they made. :)

I have a few of the knock-off pullers that were in an eclectic group of tools I received from a friend. I apparently didn't list them on GJ. I'll have to go dig them out.

I found mine it the kitchen utensils bin at a second hand store. I guess they thought it was a meat fork.

Mine is another round O example.

The fork was too rusty to see the maker's mark, so I pulled it out and hung it in the E-bucket There is still some chrome left on the tang.

I've never seen an example of the larger 'gardener' weed puller shown in the catalog above; only the 'lawn' model. They're somewhat larger than the ones we're discussing, but I don't see why that'd almost triple the price. It is also interesting to see that image with the 'improved' fork. I've never seen one of that style either.

That looks better with round O. Thanks for sharing.

This red box with a few tools arrived yesterday. I added the missing screw to the ratchet and started doing some cleaning and straightening.

You no you have the perfect woman when she gets you a 1/2 drive plomb set to add to the collection.. she just gave it to me last night
Sorry if I’m on the wrong thread here, first time posting and still trying to navigate it. I have a very unusual Plomb war time ratchet with a pin installed in the hanger thru-hole. It appears to be so well done and won’t budge, even the arrow on the shank looks professionally cut away to make room for it. Can any of the Plomb experts help shed some light on this ?..TIA

Most likely from the bell system sleeve roller tool. Missing the knob, and someone swapped the gear for regular 3/8 drive gear.

I picked up a 3/8” drive sliding Tee for a reasonable price on eBay. When it arrived I liked it a little better than the one I had in my original wartime set since it had some of the dark finish remaining. IMG_1216.jpegIMG_1217.jpegI went ahead and switched it out for one that was in my existing set.IMG_1218.jpeg
and added the original one to my new set in progress. IMG_1233.jpeg
I found a couple more sockets that I was missing and added them as well. IMG_1234.jpeg
I guess I’ll be looking around for a 9/16” 12 point wartime socket.

A tool arrived today for my Plomb based GMTK that I had been looking for since I started the project. I saw dozens of Danielson style 12” Plomb adjustables, all postwar, but never a Utica made one to match the 8” one already in the set. It replaces a newer Utica made example that will now go into my regular Plomb toolbox. I disassembled and cleaned and lubed the pin and adjustment wheel and stretched out the spring a bit. A dab of loctite on the threads and it works like new. I slathered it with fluid film to prevent future rusting. IMG_1238.jpegIMG_1239.jpeg
The new one and the one it replaced. IMG_1240.jpegIMG_1241.jpeg
The matching 8” and 12” adjustablesIMG_1243.jpegIMG_1242.jpeg
I switched the #3 Phillips to a nice amber handle example. IMG_1246.jpegA new file card (38-C-300 File Cleaner) went into the set along with the other pieces. IMG_1247.jpeg
A couple of pictures of the set.
