hey Twertsy, you interested in a blackhawk board?? Im guessing early 80s? It was marked $25 at a local store... I took a pic I can find and send you tonight....
I truly appreciate the offer but for Blackhawk I'm only interested in pre 1955.

I have a number of Plomb 1/4" and 9/32" [WF-7] breakers and have never seen pebbled ones, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yeah, I have a 9/32nds breaker bar...don't have a 1/4 pebble however :rocker:

Other odd thought I had...Plvmb made a 19/32 socket, dbe and also doe...they do not list a combination wrench however ...why?

Yes, that looks plvmbish...my civilian 1/4 drive box has the plvmb los angeles stamped into the lid while my military 9/32nds box has no stamping... I think it also was different based on the years of the boxes but your paint looks the same as my civilian box. Nice score!

When I took a look at the small box, the first thought that crossed my mind was S-K. You might want to check out the 1/4" drive sets in the '43 S-K catalog on Twertsy's site and see if those boxes don't resemble yours more than the Plomb boxes. Check out the S-K box in the upper right corner of this 1942 military picture posted on G503.com.

So you know you are a plvmb addict when you check craigslist twice a day....I am looking for a large plvmb tool box but no luck yet...but I did find these beauties for $25 shipped to my house. Wrenches are in pretty good shape and I will be putting some into my collection and selling the others I get rid of...

Smokeshow, why haven't you bought this one yet?

https://salem.craigslist.org/tls/6004424225.html

Well I am looking more for a box like RagtopTA or Rileysan bought or for a plvmb tool mobile. I want to use it as an actual box :D I have been watching that box on eBay. In my opinion that box is over priced ?? Dude has it on e bay for 267 obo...I was more looking for a box with multiple drawers.. Anyone know what that box is for? Looks like a tractor/heavy machinery box that held 3/4 or 1 inch drive stuff?? Looks in decent shape, just not what I was wanting. Is that box overpriced??

My thoughts exactly that the 1212 and the 1210 where worth as much as I paid. The rest was just gravy. I was missing the 1212 which was pretty nice, and also needed the other wrenches to put into my collection. I cherry picked the best wrenches in between my set and the stuff I just bought and will sell the rest. The pictures are pre clean up...the wrenches don't look that great due to grease and very light surface rust on them. I cleaned them up and most of them ended up on my wall :rocker:

Compared to asking and selling prices of similar 3/4" drive socket set boxes on Ebay, it is ridiculously overpriced.
That said, it is "PLOMB", and therefore falls into that proverbial "collector" market, so anything's possible.

There were a couple Wright-branded boxes about the same size listed a week or so back on Ebay that were less than half of that (including shipping.)

But again, it's a seller's market on some stuff. I saw a small PROTO box ("flying lady" / Los Angeles) for a 1/4" drive set go for about $70.00 (incl. shipping) about a year ago. Nothing would surprise me.

Here is a kind of unusual pair of NOS early Proto snap ring pliers I found at a Berkeley estate sale yesterday. It was cool that they were still in the box.

The referenced box is gone, but here's what the 3/4" drive set box looks like.

Thanks Ben. It'll be headed up to WV to accomodate a recently purchased 3/4" drive set by Horse.

that thing is cool! I saw a small 3/8 Proto socket tray in great shape at a shop yesterday but they wanted $15... I may return and get it at some point.

I have been needing to track down some clogs in my house pipes so I broke out the big daddy pipe wrench. It is a 24" transitional plvmb/proto pipe wrench. It gives great leverage on pipes that are nearly 100 years old  I don't just collect them, they get used as well :bounce:

Funny thing, Twertsy. Since I passed that box on to you, I have accumulated the Plomb ratchet and sockets to go in it. No regrets, though, I need less things in my life, not more. I'm not a very good collector.

thats a really cool wrench been watching its little brother here on flea bay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Plo...391688?hash=item3f77b68bc8:g:Fp8AAOSwax5YtutG

I am really summoning alot of will power not to hit the buy it now button :rocker: Only thing holding me back is the swap meet in a few weeks. My wrench is so big it gave my arms a pretty good work out, holding it with one hand. Little sore today :) I think I paid about $30 2 years ago for it??
