ohh they did a really good job! its heavy sob! havent had hardly any time to tool hunt last couple weeks. But im off this week end and its flea market time again! and fried pies!
Rag Top, that wrench could be a dedicated tubing wrench. Look at how beefy the flanks of the opening are. 1-1/2" is the standard opening for a 1" bolt, but more importantly for the hex on the tube nuts on 1" AN (37° flare) fittings, so the 1AM marking may be identifing the proper wrench for the fitting. Most likely WWII military.
Edit: Smokeshow is right about the 2624 being a spud (ironworking, with a tapered handle for aligning holes) wrench. My money says that the spud wrench was chosen for making a special wrench for the customer (US Government is my guess) because the forging had extra thick walls around the box end.
I believe the 1 AM stamping is the customer ID, but it could be a fastener size. And it was applied at the Plomb factory.

Finally took this out after a decade or better, thinking it was Plomb. I swear it magically transitioned from Plomb to Proto sitting in the box all that time.
A big ugly Proto Los Angeles 3070. Still, a pebble and a very hefty wrench.
I would probably buy it for $25. That is a big wrenchI m going to Trade Days again tomorrow. A guy there has a pebble 3070 all rusty.. wont take less than $25.... i may pick it up if I dont find anything else.. I dont have one and want it... but dang...
picked up a WF-24 at the swap meet yesterday. it was dangling from a no-name frozen import ratchet at the bottom of a cardboard box and looking entirely out of place. i couldn't leave it there and $1.50 later it was mine. it had already had it's day and then some, but it's sitting in the collection today.

As we like to say around here ... Show us some pix!

My find for the day... a 1940s era Utica-made 8" adjustable.

Actually, I've gotta give horse the credit for finding it. I simply hit the buy button.....Bill, that's a nice Plomb adjustable!
Don, Very cool pair of brass jaw pliers. Never seen something like that before. [emoji106]
Todd... man, you find some interesting stuff. I've seen plenty of grind offs, but never one that had the brand re-applied. Very cool!
Saw this on the bay and had to have it. First for my collection with the PLOMB fully ground off on a pebble wrench.

Unfortunately I had other things going on so I didn't get a chance to go, else I might have tried coming home with them!A little far afield, but still a Plomb: Craftsman circle-U 3/8 T-handle, made by Plomb/Penens 1944-1948.
Did someone from here get the nice 3/4 pebble ratchet, breaker bar, and three extensions (short, medium, and long) at the Rickreall Swap Meet on Sunday? They were in excellent conditon, plated with a satin finish, and marked for $100.00. I use mine, so I left them for a collector.

Ed, I was looking at that machinist stuff, too but all I was really interested in was the adjustable parallels, since I already have the other items. You snatched them up just before I went back the last time!
A 3061 pebble is hard to find in any condition. Nice find.

Got the 3070 for $15 !! not bad deal he wanted $25 the last two times I went. But made a mistake was was telling me how bad the last sev months have been. Made the offer and he didnt like it. I said its been sitting on your trailer rusting for sev months I know if. This cash will be in your pocket. He reluctantly took it. Good shape no owners marks!

Wow some finds this week. Nice job guys.Rag, that cleaned up nice. The story reminds me of some of the hardened, long time flea sellers I used to know. They'd rather let it sit and bring it back for months or even years than take a nickel less than they want, lol.
Some early Plomb sockets from yesterday. There is an 8A stamp on each one. What say you guys on the date?

Man I've never seen any of those really old Plomb sockets in the wild! I want to find a set though!
3Bay: Last month he was kinda an *** about it. Or I would have bought it. He also has a really rusty 1/2 pebble breaker. He wanted $50 for both. Nah... you can keep em dude.
Smoke: I now have a big gap to fill up to 3070 !!
Been so busy I have barely gotten to any sales last couple weeks.
A little older than this? Some early Plomb sockets from yesterday. There is an 8A stamp on each one. What say you guys on the date?

NotLob: I own a 1 inch Plvmb ratchet and it's a BIG UN that is for certain. one thing to note for those looking at the one NL just posted cause it's missing it's piece to turn the sockets that might be UNOBTANIUM. or does Proto still have that part to sell you if you want to buy it?
Smoke: are you cornering the supply of all the Plvmb top boxes in the PNW? do you have a family photo of them to post?
Moore: i think we need more pictures of your new 70 ish year old roller when you have some time.
so you RAN INTO IT?![]()
