That is some really nice Plomb goodness Craftsman C. Beautiful line up of ratchets you have going.

What a nice tool board Twertsy, I'm sure you'll be able to fill it. I can't really tell from the pics but I assume it had both shallow and deep sockets. That will be wonderfully heavy when loaded. Ed.

Todd,
Let us know which tools you are missing on your new board. I have at least one in my 3/4" drive socket set that I could trade for another brand
Here are my Plomb finds at an Oakland estate sale yesterday. The first picture is of likely late war 1/4" drive tools. The second is some 9/32" drive Wright Field tools. The last picture is an eBay screenshot of Twertsy's new 3/4" drive board.

Someone needs to buy the above advertising piece ! It is on Seattle Craigslist and I will not be buying it as I am saving my money for the swap meet next month. Wondering if you guys have ever seen one of these ? Also wondering what you would pay ? I would be at $150 tops but then again I am super cheap [emoji23]it is not to far from drivesitfar and I bet if someone wanted it, he would mule train it for you ?

That is pretty pricey for a broken box. I do have the puller but I don't think that is quite the box for me. I did like seeing it though. Thanks for the link.
I ended up filling up an almost empty 1/4" drive box I had with extra tools.

ALL: that cool little hammering Plvmb guy has been listed for weeks and i've emailed the seller a few times without a response. his ad is set up like an auction so i wouldn't be surprised if the CL ad is only to get some interest so he can list on Ebay.

I don't need it, but was hoping to buy it and just watch him work hard while i GET ORGANIZED.

Found this old wooden Plomb puller box on Ebay if any one is interested. I don't have a puller yet. The box will need some repair looks like though.

That puller box is for a hub puller set like this. I've never seen a wooden box like that for the set. It's priced at about 2 - 3x what I'd be willing to pay for it.

I recently added a 4747 flat head screwdriver socket to my 1/4" set. This one has the "NR." stamp directly below the p/n and I believe the "IB" date code is 1942 if I understand Twertsy's work on Tool Archives on the two letter system. Has anyone ever come up with a potential meaning for the "NR." stamp?

It's for tools that aren't very strong. An example is the 4751.
Thanks, that makes sense. 4751 was the smaller version of 4749 and I think all the examples of other tools that Twertsy shows on Tool Archives marked NR are from the 1/4" drive carburetor kit 4700K. In the catalog they id those items as "Special Carburetor Jet Tools Only". My 4747 is also listed in this kit.

That is the coolest tool company advertising piece I have ever seen. If that thing makes it to eBay I’ll be on it like a bum on a ham sandwich.

Its very interesting for that to be on the SEATTLE craigslist. Wonder if the guy who made the huge kinetic arm blacksmith sculpture that’s in front of the SAM had Plomb inspiration??? Fun to speculate

Here is a 3/4" drive socket that might look good on Twertsy's new 3/4" drive Plomb board.

Moved to larger shop and gained some pegboard space. Hung up some of my pebbles for display. More fun than hid away in box.

Just an FYI there is one of those rare spinner handles on the bay right now! I already submitted my highest bid and it is already over it. I won't be bidding again as the swap meet is coming up next month! Thought someone on here should get it though !

Been watching it smoke... Im debating on it still, there a few other things I want. I have found 2 of those exact handles but they ate both Williams. Is it 1/4 or 9/32 ?

Are you getting close to having a full set of the pebble combos?

I'm close on combos. 5/16 to 1 7/16. No 32scnds. Missing a few DBE's. I haven't researched what I don't have lately. I have quite a few DOE's. Also wound up with gob of smooth combos. Developed a "thing" for amber screwdrivers. I have 22. Guy has 8 on fleabay for $345 so I'm rich and didn't know it.

Many people don't realize they made 9/32" drive tools, so they just assume they are 1/4". The Plomb WF-6 is a 9/32" drive.

My Ford Model A club held our annual swap meet at the fairgrounds this weekend and I scored a Plomb 1/2" drive socket set that included 11 sockets, extension, universal, breaker bar, speeder and ratchet with no owner markings and decent chrome for $40. I hope I did OK?
I might have a 1/2" drive socket Plomb tool board to hold it all too... :pimpflash

You did well if you found a matching set all together in the wild for $40! And yes, we know you know a guy with a few tool boards [emoji849] no need to rub it in [emoji23]

So ironic, because they are thee hardest Plomb "WF" series tool to find, in my experience/opinion. I have never seen one in the wild - my preferred finding grounds, and almost every time they show up here on GJ, it's someone who snagged it for dirt cheap as a late night BIN on eBay from a seller who didn't know what it was. How can you sell tools and not know what you're selling? I hear you on the similar and more familiar drive size assumption thing, omt, but I have no sympathy for lazy sellers who don't bother to understand their products. He obviously looked no further than the name for his description. In this case, it seems as if he's going to reap the benefits of the bidders knowing more about it than him. Pffft.

Agreed Lugs, I see a ton of WF-8 1/4 drive ratchets on ebay.... I bet new people that buy them and get them home are mad! Learning a lesson the hard way. I always google stuff, look in the catalogs, or ask in here. You guys are an amazing source of knowledge.

That WF-6 is one that is missing from my WF collection, but someone wanted it more than me. Also that one listed seems to not have great markings. To pay that much I'd want it to be perfect.
