Wish I had some pics of the 3/4 Proto Lite.

These are some of the other odd Plomb and Proto I’ve collected.

1/2” drive WF-38-T torque adapter collection. I’ve since added one more. Something strange about these, the female opening loses its shape over time (Or usage, or perhaps temperature sensitive). I’ve never used one, only put drive tools on them, and some will no longer accept a drive tool. Some wouldn’t accept a drive tool upon my getting them. Very strange.

Top to bottom:

3/4” Proto crank handle- (more modern) looks military, stamped Granco, Wright socket pinned to the square.

1/2” 5449 D mystery spinner ratchet.

1/2” C-31-254 mystery ratchet (no ball, a seller had several like this), hockey stick lever like the spinner.

1/2” 5449-SS, strange construction and hand grip. I have seen the grip on other Proto family ratchets.

3/8” 5249D, stubby handle,extended 3/8 female square.

Some mystery short 1/4 ratchets acquired in the parts ratchet deal.

Two have a face plate marked C-4749-T.

Me too! For some reason I refuse to pay much for one of those. I know they are harder to find than most Plomb rats but that’s my strange way of thinking.

depends on how bad I want something now days. No kid on my payroll anymore and no wife makes this a great hobby for me. I do have other projects though Im putting a lot of cash into. But I do have a Plomb fund : )

Figured I ought to post these here as well. Also from the parts ratchet haul.

The Proto mini SC 4751 face plates,
and the mysterious 1/2” drive sized face plate WT-3/8.

Last picture shows the tiny plate over a regular 1/4 ratchet

Proto and Plomb repair kit boxes with some original contents, and some used parts and misc. mixed in. I think Rock Crusher posted a Plomb box a ways back too.

Thanks guys they are a pretty neat piece of history.

48548, it’s nice to have some parts around for the hobby. These are mainly 1/4”. There is at least one 1/2” step down cam (old style) for the race track shape ratchet head that I need for a Craftsman Circle U ratchet, and one lever that will need modification for that as well when I can get to the ratchet. If you notice in the photo of the WF-38-T ratchets on the board, the one on the top left has a new Proto lever. The lever needed to be ground down or filed underneath in order to ride over the rim of the ratchet head. The current levers are not the same style or bendable but do fit the old cam. Those old cams are not interchangeable AT ALL with today’s Proto cam as I once learned the hard way buying a kit.

3bay: do you own that kit or are you just posting pictures of it? THAT IS REALLY COOL!!

Drives, I picked up the boxes recently. Posted about them here:

Those ratchet repair kits are awesome and the wood boxes they came in make them even better. I wish I had found one. :) That is definitely something else to keep an eye out for. Ed.

I posted this in the garage sale thread, but this looks like a good place to post it as well!

Found these two sockets (no photos)

PLOMB WF-29 1/2" 3/8" drive 12 point
PLOMB WF-72 3/8" 3/8" drive swivel 12 point

The bigger find was what I thought was a 1/4" drive PLOMB ratchet. It wasn't until I got it home that I discovered that a 1/4" drive socket was a little too small to fit onto it. After a little research, turns out it's a WF-8 9/32" drive ratchet. I didn't even know 9/32" existed before today. There's a bit of olive green paint on it, so I'm betting it was someone's Army souvenir. It also came with a Proto 4870 9/32" drive swivel, and a PLOMB WF-14 3/8" 12 point 9/32" drive to go with it! Still not sure what I'm going to do with these.

What you just described is the way it began for many of us who collect. If you get interested in trying to put together a full set there is lots of good info both here in this thread as well as other locations to learn more. I think you'll also find a willingness here to help with any questions you might have. Here is a pic of one of my mostly complete WF 9/32 sets.

We are all waiting to hear who won the small but expensive pebble flex handle. At least it stayed under $100.00.
