That's a common hammer from PLUMB, not PLOMB. It's a $1 to $3 garage sale hammer, $10 to $15 if you really needed one.

EDIT: REDUNDANT to ssdave. (What happened to the Delete Post option?)

Damon- just like Ss Dave said- that is plumb, not plomb. That is the company that sued plomb and won. He is on the mark with the prices as well!

Thanks guys! That's the education I was looking for. No wonder it hasn't sold at $45. I must have missed the whole Plomb/Plumb story, I thought it was two names for the same company over time.

Is there a sticky with the story or a link you can point me to?

Thanks for the info, trying to learn the brands.

Lug, I haven't tried it, but when I go to edit a post there is the option to delete.

Hey Damon! It is very easy to confuse the 2 brands as that is what prompted the 2 lawsuits. The last one was in the mid 40’s which forced Plomb to change their advertised/ stamped name to Proto Los Angeles. The company name was still the Plomb tool company- selling Proto Los Angeles until plomb changed its name to Pendleton tool company but still selling the Proto brand. I think it is lugz who did a fantastic write up on the lawsuits??

That's kind of you to say. It can be found in the Index in the Sticky.

My user interface is really strange right now. I don't have the delete option.

Lugz I have been having trouble with attachments the last few days and I also noticed an issue with the delete post button. I am on my phone and haven’t checked to see if it is different from my computer

That is odd, I just checked and even in advanced edit (Laptop and Chrome) no delete options - usually here are a couple (but not all worked)

The delete function was removed by Ryan a couple days ago, as well as suspending the ability to edit posts more than 24 hours old. He had a member with a grudge going back and editing all 600+ posts he had in history to a political rant. He said he will add back in edit capability, but not delete.

I'm considering not posting at all, not sure if I want to do that. I delete 100% of the posts that I make that I can, a few days after they are posted and become stale. Not sure I want a large bulk of old posts out there, I'm just odd that way.

Added a few more to the wall. A long 4763 extension leaving only 2 standard extensions left to find a short 3/4" and short 1/2".
Also a pair of square shank screwdrivers.IMG_20200824_194110291.jpgIMG_20200824_194115725.jpegIMG_20200824_194131150.jpeg

That’s a pretty long 1/4 drive extension especially in those days. Nice find

Thanks. I never saw that notice. Is it still active somewhere? Not to continue to go off topic here, but I don't understand. I get removing the ability to edit posts more than 24 hours old. Why would he want to prevent an angry person from deleting 600+ deranged posts?

Lugz I think the angered person went back and edited 600 posts with one single post of political content. I don’t understand why the delete button is gone unless that is tied into the programming of an edit all feature?

So here’s a question. Does anyone here have, or seen, a 4796 midget box? I can’t find any photos online except the catalog image in #18. By catalog 19 it looks like the big midget set was packed in he 5295 box.

No, it was at the OCO swap in Oakland, and it was well over $100 and filled with broken taps and other junk.

Oooh, local. It would be a fun set to complete. I think that I have everything but the box and maybe the deep sockets and I’ll have a spare red box needing refinishing shortly.

It’s good to know they exist though. I just made a deal on a bunch of the scarcer stuffings for the big set. Now I’m thinking about where to put them.

I can help you by putting it on this shelf I made for my sets! I put cork on the shelves to protect the paint on the bottoms of the boxes![emoji41][emoji41][emoji23]

That's a cool look, Smoke.

I plucked this prewar baby out of a Craftsman box at the flea this morning.
