Hmm. I dunno. It could be worn. What else would an "R & P" marking be and in the same exact location on the socket as the "Phillips" marking?...but I don't think that drive bit is an RP. As Mints drawing shows, the tip would be very pointed.
That's not impossible and in some cases not that unusual. People have probably interchanged Phillips and Frearson and vice versa cursing a little without even knowing it. It won't be a tight connection on all surfaces. Far from ideal, but not completely inadequate and not impossible in all circumstances. The difference is not like the difference between Torx or even another cruciform type like Posidrive and Phillips. Not to dismiss the distinction, but just to say, again, the fact that it will turn a Phillips screw head isn't enough to eliminate it being Reed & Prince. Besides, that would be a very odd mistake, and one that would still certainly mean they were also making Reed & Prince type bits to have that die. Which is what's remarkable. As 3bay alluded to, I'm not sure that was known before. It may be misstamped. Seems to work on phillips.

I went through and sorted out my Proto tools today. I’m sure that I have some of your missing nutdrivers. Finally, (did I forget to say it was a Proto day?!), I also found this partial No. 9200C nut driver set in original Flying Lady logo pouch. It's too bad there were only two of the nut drivers remaining, but I would've bought it empty.
While going through the screwdrivers, I found candidates for another Phillips vs Reed Prince comparison.

I was probably going to flip it, Don. If you think it being complete will command that much of a better price, send them and I'll split the profit 50/50 with you!went through and sorted out my Proto tools today. I’m sure that I have some of your missing nutdrivers.
That would fit with DATAMP thinking they were the sole mfgrs. And JO and Plomb Empire had a very close relationship.and a JOline, who I think developed these.
I can’t send them for around a month. We are headed back to the mountains first thing tomorrow to see how things look. We won’t be in an airplane like the Pres. & the Gov. If you can wait that’s fine, otherwise go ahead and flip.I was probably going to flip it, Don. Huh, looks like you could use an LA era rotamat with tools for that……..Per my trolling post, yes I was able to purchase that roto mat topper from the seller on craigslist. I called the day someone posted it in this thread but the seller wouldn't sell it to me right away. He said another buyer was interested in it plus a bunch of gas pumps and other petrolina he was selling. I kept in contact with him throught the week. Finally wednesday he said he would sell it to me! Super cool dude. He took the conduit tube off it to ship it and packaged it up really nice and tight. I offered to pay $75 plus shipping so it came to about $115. I am going to put a bulb in it and put it on my shelf next to my proto boxes! Super cool piece. Now I just need to find a roto matIt measures 10" across and 6" tall. I put a 6" extension inside it just to show perspective. It is really dusty and the metal lids have some slight surface rust I will clean up.
Oh you are absolutely right, they just go on the workbench and set the box behind it!you are obviously doing it wrong. None of the parts go in the box, they are supposed to be left out.
