Here is a Proto Mfd. and the Plomb that’s in my Plomb based GMTK. They tend to get a little shorter with use and abuse. The FSN for the Plomb is 41-B-292 Rolling Head Pry Bar – Plomb 2130. The Plomb 2126 is a smaller bar.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. My mfd 2130 Bar is proto. My smaller 2126 is Plomb which lives with the rest of my plomb collection in my roller stack. I dont use these much but when you need 'em, they can really save your skin

Some 4” Proto special application ratchets. None of them have a detent ball, the hole is drilled straight through. Perhaps they were pinned to something. Any ideas?

Plomb for size comparison.

The latest one I picked up (right) is marked U.S. RA, followed by a different number than the others. Researching that abbreviation has given a few possibilities.

That one also has the number on the handle, however it ends in a different digit than the cover plate. Strange! A lot of Proto mystery ratchets out there.

Note how close to the edge the hole is on the middle rat.

I've gotten to know several sellers at some of the local flea markets....
We chat and so forth, they're really nice people.....

I like to buy stuff from them, since for most of them, it's their source of income
So, that's how I ended up with this Proto set
At least it's complete....

Per someone on Worthpoint, it's a "very rare" auto body lead shaper.
Worthpoint: an archive of ebay posting, so whatever a crazy eBay poster guessed at, it's now preserved for history. Oh and it has good seller's information too, so you have to decide which one you found this time. 😉

Agreed, 100%. Which is why I described it as a "nicely shaped stick". I haven't completely cleaned it up--really greasy--and have some experience with wooden tools used at high temp, like glass-working tools. Jury is still out on this one.

I would consider any surviving lead spoon somewhat of a rarity. They were considered consumable so not a lot survived. I have one and it’s mint. The nature of working hot molten metal and wood didn’t lead to a long life for most spoons.

Fellow at the yard sale where I found these was charging scrap prices.

Before a few hours in phos acid:

I have a 3/3 drive 5249 ratchet with the through hole. It is for fixing a socket or extension in place with a roll pin for use in FOD environments or when working at height. Also for use when there is no need to change different size sockets.

The ALLEN USA 10" extension in the pictures is also drilled through at both ends.

Obviously, only sockets that are also drilled through can be used.

I took a gamble on this rough looking 40B tool board on eBay. It was $48 plus $10 shipping so I figured why not. Worst case scenario is that it was absolute garbage and I could use the brackets for parts. It arrived today and I couldn’t be happier. It needs a cleanup and some love but look closely at the logo. There is green showing underneath the rebadged proto sticker. Yep that’s right it’s plomb(late version) . Also look at the font on the back… is this a dual marked one based on the font? I only have one Plomb tool board and it’s the earlier wartime version so I don’t have anything to compare it to. All my proto la versions have different font style. All the brackets are present and tight

You'll may want to talk to a museum art restoration department for advice if you want to remove the top sticker without damaging the one beneath. Good luck!
The center of the sticker where the green is poking through is lifting but the edges are on securely. Now to figure out the best method to get it off

It’s been proven time and again that Proto Tools have balls.

Well, in this case, one ball. :willy_nil

I thought I’d seen some strange ones before.

This weighs several pounds.

It drives something that utilizes a keyway. I’ve seen several keyway rats before, but nothing quite like this.

There’s a similar number tool on an aerospace and surplus type site. Their description is pretty vague, something like cable carrying handle. So it’s not a combat rat? :twak:

It also has the large lever selector that’s appeared on other ratchets.

It’s about 8-3/4”, compared to a 5449 which is 10”.E003914B-E8DB-423C-9186-913D37CDE5EC.jpeg

Picked these up at my local car boot sale last Sunday.

Professional 10" pliers.
11/32" pre professional combo.

Both look like they have never been used.

Are these proto? I have never need a ratchet adapter by plumb or proto with a 3 number part number or it just being a logo then "AA MFG"
Anyone else have something with simular markings?

The hinge handle is certainly not Proto. That’s got duro/ indestro written all over it. I don’t think the ratchet adapter is either

@Steven 33 -
I have that entered into my list:
AA / AA Mfg. Co. / 1/2" drive ratchet adapter /
but I have NO idea who made it. (must have seen it on ebay.)
It's interesting because the proto one is 5447 and this is 547 I'll have to do a little digging. Lots of unknowns in this tool lot I picked up today
