I have an older TAC set, but couldn’t resist the flying lady. It didn’t come with the extension. The breaker bar is Proto and disappointingly sloppy. The other set has an Indestro breaker that was in it when I got it, but is probably not original.

This is the other set. Homemade sockets are 15mm and 17mm. I never got around to making more. Extension didn’t come with the set.

I was able to work a trade with D42 for these unused extractors. Note the tips show no impact and the ends show no hammer strikes. All the bluing is intact! I am very happy with these! They are so cool

In answer to your question Smoke, I couldn't find it online or in any of my hardcopy catalogs. So, not sure, but my best guess is between '64 and '69 as I don't have any cats from then.

I don't doubt your word for a moment, Smoke. You just need to "focus" on your photographic skills! :geek:

I was thinking around that time as well.. I have a sneaking suspicion it was around the time right before they changed to the more modern waterloo made boxes

Sorry to take so long to get back to this, been working. The # on the mid box is 9966. I've looked and can't find a thing on it, but that isn't new to Proto. Smoke, this thing sat at a well advertised estate sale for two days before I picked it up (cheap). I've been on a roll with Plomb/Proto boxes as of late, I haven't shown the best yet but I will say I've been looking for one for years and finally got lucky.

Rural OC. Did you go to the huge sale in Beavercreek this weekend?
Nope I wish! I live over by Tualatin so rural oc and beavercreek is definently within striking distance. I was busy with general errands and the such. Did you find anything else cool while you were out and about ?

Found a couple new ones for the kit... I don't run into a lot of the double squares in larger sizes.

I found my first dual marked transition tool today. There is at least one 10 inch wrench like it in the Plomb thread, but searching did not bring one up in this thread, so I'll post it here. I was excited to see it said Proto and was pleasantly surprised when I flipped it over to see Plvmb. Tom

I got this 1954 catalog this week. It is pretty nice to have a real original one instead of looking online. It has the price list too which is cool. The puller guide I have had for a while but I don’t think I posted it.

I have noticed the thin DOE wrenches with an offset that show up now and then. They are the AN 8505 series, and I don't know what they were intended for. Recently, I found a use for my AN 8505-13. I used the 1-1/8" end to hold the piston rod for an ARO air fluid pump I use for transferring hydraulic oil from 55-gallon drums. The piston assembly screws onto the rod, and the rod has two flats that are barely wide enough to get this thin wrench in. The wrench is pretty stout, and I had to put a lot of torque on it, using a 1-5/8" P&C combo on the flats of the piston itself.

Does anyone know what these wrenches were intended for? The AN number indicates a military procurement specification.
