Not even close. Haven't touched it in a couple of months. I think I am going to pack it up and take it to our summer place in the mountains after the July 4th festivities are over. Need to make a concentrated effort to get it running...too many other projects keep getting shoved in front of it.

AND...if it's up there I can work on it instead of starting the master bath remodel that my wife keeps dropping "hints" about-(with ever-increasing frequency...)
Wanna borrow my car trailer. It deserves a nice summer home. 😂

Had to leave the trailer, drive 30 miles into town to get (2) new tires mounted, drive back and change them out.

Worse part is that it's my neighbors trailer....
But at least I tossed my floor jack on the trailer and a 1/2" ratchet and 13/16 socket in the truck before I left PHX. And I had the jackstands I had just taken it off of in the truck.

Both at the same time, wtf?!

Should have borrowed mine…

That way you could have bought 4 tires 😉😂

First one exploded coming up out of the Salt River Canyon. Changed it out, the spare was almost flat. Made it 11 miles before that one did the same.

Of course it happened in the middle of the 83 mile stretch of highway on the Apache Reservation with no services...and zero cell coverage. Otherwise I would have called and borrowed your trailer...🤣

Old tires that aged out? Very bizarre that both would fail within 11 miles of each other.

Glad you and the roadster made it ok with no damage.
Been there done that Larry. July 4th weekend, heading home, 120degrees and halfway between Laughlin and Needles with my squirt boat on a single axle. And a wife and 2yr old in the ride.

BOOM!

Well ****, lets drop on the spare. Only to find out the hub of the spare doesn’t fit the bearing buddy. That’s ok, I’ve got my trusty 9.6v makita cordless and a burr, I’ll grind that ***** out (2 batteries later) she fits

Hooray!!

Not another ten miles….

BOOM!

There goes the other side. So I send my brother inlaw down to needles to get a one tire replaced. A little bit later he returns with a new tire at $180?! This was back in the day when trailer tires where like $30

So I decide to not chance it and I go to the same joint and get my other tire replaced and put the spare back on the rack

The tire dude gets done and I pay another $180 and tell the dude “thanks bud”

He didn’t skip a fn beat and says to me “oh nooo, thank you!”😡

Spent $180 on two tires.
13" Trailer only, 8-ply ,load range D.
Drove into Show Low, really like the little independent tire shop. They have never hosed me. I was in and out in 15 minutes.
Told him I had a hot rod sitting alongside the highway. He made it top priority when I told him where it was..

I always carry 2 spares for the trailer when leaving town. There's something about trailer tires that makes them blow at the most inconvenient times.

Glad you got it all handled without incident. I've got a double axle 14' you can use anytime you want.

I'd have been sweating bullets leaving that trailer w/cargo on the side of the road.

Blew a trailer tire at 3am about 30 miles from home, I just kept going..lol

I miraculously made it all the way home without seeing a cop. The sparks and debris flying off that tire were really impressive.lol There was a clear line from the off ramp right to my driveway that’s probably still there years later.

Took an enclosed trailer to N. CA for a sled trip years ago and blew 3 of the 4 tires within about 150 miles. The 4th tire had been changed out on the previous trip so it was fine. 2 spares saved us, but Wal-Mart was the only place open when we pulled and they only had passenger tires. The reluctantly sold us one so we had a spare which we used for the 3rd blow out. Stopped and bought 4 new tires the next morning.
Glad there was no more damage than there was (wallet, time).

I'll bet they were really old, did you look at the date on them? When those go on a travel trailer they can total it, not much to hurt on the car trailer luckily.

The tires were less than 4 years old. Dealer mentioned that they were not aged checked.
It belongs to my neighbor, and it's stored outside year round.
He hauled 6 heavy loads of pavers from my remodel in PHX up to his place in Show Low this spring without a problem. Guessing that failure was probably due to heat. AZ asphalt can get over 160F in the summer. The '32 probably weighs less than 1500#, so it wasn't overloaded.
It worked out OK. Now we're just arguing over paying for the tires. I won't let him reimburse me, and told the tire dealer not to tell him how much they cost. It happened on my watch, my responsibility.

This happened in the same place I had the first blowout , a couple of years ago. A woman dragged a boat trailer on one rim for miles ("There are no gas stations out here!"🙄) throwing sparks. It started a fire that burned 3000+ acres.

Trailers dragging chains cause a large % of summer forest fires in AZ. Tinder dry, hot, windy, it only takes one spark to start an inferno.

I was lucky there were wide spots within close proximity both times.

South Florida during the rainy season in the middle of the city, not a forest to be seen for miles and miles.lol

Another big license plate flag project.
This one is going to be a wedding present for good friend's son and his bride.
She's from Oregon, he's from Washington and they are now living in Arizona. She really liked the statue of Liberty flag I did last year, so I am doing a variation of that for their wedding present. (And I am officiating the wedding ceremony, too.😉)

$10 Garage sale find a few years back. This just might be my favorite router. Used it yesterday to round over the edges on a bunch of salvaged construction grade 2x's I ran through my little Ryobi planer for a bridge project between our house and the neighbors up at our summer place.

IMG_20240620_114414314.jpgIMG_20240620_114428629.jpg

Bridge is 12' long, rectangular steel tubing frame with a wood deck. Welded decorative corner columns out of 3/4 and 5/8 rebar with heavy 2x4 welded wire mesh. These will get filled with 4"+ round rock. Probably saw up some 2" thick flagstone caps.

I like the gabion baskets for the bridge columns. I hadn't thought of rebar for the edging, but it loks great.
