Wanna borrow my car trailer. It deserves a nice summer home. Not even close. Haven't touched it in a couple of months. I think I am going to pack it up and take it to our summer place in the mountains after the July 4th festivities are over. Need to make a concentrated effort to get it running...too many other projects keep getting shoved in front of it.
AND...if it's up there I can work on it instead of starting the master bath remodel that my wife keeps dropping "hints" about-(with ever-increasing frequency...)
Watch out for snakes looking to mateIn the pine trees.... But, still could go wrong.
Thought @ducksface was storing it for you at his place up north?Wanna borrow my car trailer. It deserves a nice summer home.![]()

Road debris?
Both at the same time, wtf?!
Should have borrowed mine…
That way you could have bought 4 tires![]()
Been there done that Larry. July 4th weekend, heading home, 120degrees and halfway between Laughlin and Needles with my squirt boat on a single axle. And a wife and 2yr old in the ride.Old tires that aged out? Very bizarre that both would fail within 11 miles of each other.
Glad you and the roadster made it ok with no damage.

BOOM!
Well ****, lets drop on the spare. Only to find out the hub of the spare doesn’t fit the bearing buddy. That’s ok, I’ve got my trusty 9.6v makita cordless and a burr, I’ll grind that ***** out (2 batteries later) she fits
Hooray!!
Not another ten miles….
BOOM!
There goes the other side. So I send my brother inlaw down to needles to get a one tire replaced. A little bit later he returns with a new tire at $180?! This was back in the day when trailer tires where like $30
So I decide to not chance it and I go to the same joint and get my other tire replaced and put the spare back on the rack
The tire dude gets done and I pay another $180 and tell the dude “thanks bud”
He didn’t skip a fn beat and says to me “oh nooo, thank you!”![]()
Spent $180 on two tires.
13" Trailer only, 8-ply ,load range D.
Drove into Show Low, really like the little independent tire shop. They have never hosed me. I was in and out in 15 minutes.
Told him I had a hot rod sitting alongside the highway. He made it top priority when I told him where it was..
I'd have been sweating bullets leaving that trailer w/cargo on the side of the road.
In the tool bidness those guys are called “Skinners” You, my friend, got “skinned”!He didn’t skip a fn beat and says to me “oh nooo, thank you!”![]()
Ya true but I look at it this way. I paid $300 for a 34yr long running joke. "oh noooo thank you" at the right time has gotten some millage out of me.In the tool bidness those guys are called “Skinners” You, my friend, got “skinned”!

Blew a trailer tire at 3am about 30 miles from home, I just kept going..lol
I miraculously made it all the way home without seeing a cop. The sparks and debris flying off that tire were really impressive.lol There was a clear line from the off ramp right to my driveway that’s probably still there years later.
South Florida during the rainy season in the middle of the city, not a forest to be seen for miles and miles.lolThis happened in the same place I had the first blowout , a couple of years ago. A woman dragged a boat trailer on one rim for miles ("There are no gas stations out here!") throwing sparks. It started a fire that burned 3000+ acres.
Trailers dragging chains cause a large % of summer forest fires in AZ. Tinder dry, hot, windy, it only takes one spark to start an inferno.
I was lucky there were wide spots within close proximity both times.

I like the gabion baskets for the bridge columns. I hadn't thought of rebar for the edging, but it loks great.$10 Garage sale find a few years back. This just might be my favorite router. Used it yesterday to round over the edges on a bunch of salvaged construction grade 2x's I ran through my little Ryobi planer for a bridge project between our house and the neighbors up at our summer place.
Bridge is 12' long, rectangular steel tubing frame with a wood deck. Welded decorative corner columns out of 3/4 and 5/8 rebar with heavy 2x4 welded wire mesh. These will get filled with 4"+ round rock. Probably saw up some 2" thick flagstone caps.
