All the closing stores in my area are quoting me $175 for each 7 drawer unit. Too high for me.

$175 is the official corporate price. I had a manager show me the store closing packet they were given that included photos and listings of store assets with pricing.

The way to get them for a reasonable price is to go in just before they close the doors. These store closing will go on for quite awhile.

I went into a local store the other day and they had a price tag on the fixtures. The tables were marked at $500 and each section of the front counter was priced at $250. If the cabinets are Lista, they'd be priced way above retail...

Timing is everything on these. I just committed to 6 at $80/piece. Have potentially 8 more available at the store near me.

North Dakota. I have found that the listed price doesn't mean much. Make an offer. My store had them listed at $300. Talked to the manager and he said they were actually going for $175, they just didn't change the signs. I told him for that price I would have to think about it. I started looking around the store and 5 minutes later he came back to me and said he "just got" an email from corporate saying the lowest they can go was $100. That was last Tuesday, I think.

I called him Saturday and told him I'd give him $80 a piece for all 8. He said he couldn't go that low yet but would call me back. He called today :)

I got extremely lucky and a stranger who seemed to be a Radioshack insider let me in on his bulk deal for cabinets. I got the two that he wasn't buying for a really good price. I won't get that deal again but I'm going to try to get at least two more. I made an offer to a manager for four at $50 each, hopefully I get a call from them.

So here's some details if anyone is interested. They are quite heavy and sturdy, although, as others have mentioned, the drawer trays are plastic. Only small items will fit in these drawers. Height of a drawer is about 3" and width between the permanent dividers is about 4.75". The cabinets I got had about 12-16 of the removable dividers(with price tags) per drawer.

Overall dimensions of a 7 drawer unit are approximately 24" wide, 17" deep, and 25.5" tall.

Edit: I found it interesting the ball bearing slides on these are the same slides as on my late 90s Craftsman heavy-duty tool chest.

Facebook post last week said the mall store here was asking $300, would take $250. Bah, they can keep 'em for that.

Just have to keep looking. One store by me has them marked at $300 but they are in the 3rd phase of closings. Others in phase 2 have them marked at $175 and in the last week or so they mark them 50% off or around $88.

I snagged a set of 4 with rolling base for $100. This was their last day selling fixtures, so I got a killer deal. I just wish each stack was side-by-side. The rolling base supports 2 stacks of cabinets back-to-back.

The store in the Valley Mall in Union Gap, Washington, sold all eight of their units and got the 300.00 per unit from one person. 2400.00 plus sales tax. ****

Anyone got theirs loaded up with stuff already? I'd love to see how you're organizing/sorting.

I bought 14 of them. Paid $75-$125 from 3 different stores. 2 stores had 8 days before they closed and 1 still had a month to go. I had a different idea in my mind for these drawers. Mainly for the kidos. Some stores sell the white cabinets on caster carts and some have the silver variety. As far as their quality......There is lot of brand new junk being sold for more in retail.

Forgot to take a picture of the drawer with all the grinding wheels and sand paper. I have two drawers left as of right now. I've got some ideas as to what will end up there but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm sure I'll end up moving some stuff around as my hardware collection grows but between this and my rack of Plano boxes I'm much more organized than I was 6 months ago.

Re: Radio Shack small-part storage cabinets?

I paid $100 for mine. Couldn't get any store to go lower than that and I wanted one so I paid it.

The four RS stores in the Montgomery, Alabama area closed last week. I purchased two sets of parts cabinets for $100 ($50 per seven drawers). Additionally, I purchased about 200 lbs of the parts from the cabinets for $20.00 per bag and I had four bags. I'll never have to buy electronic parts again! If you are shopping for bargains in parts, go the last day RS is open. What you are doing is their inventory. The clerks actually scanned every item from my bag. One of my receipts was over 48 feet long - final cost $20.00.

If any of you have purchased these and they still have the resistors and diodes I'd be interested in those. I use them every day with my car audio business. Please let me know :)

I tried to buy some when they were going out of business with no luck. They are very nice cabinets.

Hello, I purchased, well I was out of town and my wife actually went and got them. She bought two sets and the clerk, who she got to know, sold her all the contents of each for $10. I got a ton of stuff I will never use. Maybe you will have a use for it. PM me, I will promise you, you can not bet the price!

i got a total of 8 of the 7 drawer units, 4 stacks total... paid $400 for all, which is 50 per rack of 7 drawers... they were hard to find, you have to get there on the last day and hope they arent already gone... i bought what was left in the bins too for $75 (included all kinds of other merchandise from the store, not just the bin items), receipt was over 70 feet long, i had 1187 items total. took em about 3 hours to scan the items...

Does anyone know how far into the end of March should I go in for bigger mark down, like 80-90% off? A week, 3days, or a day before end of March?
