Ok you win....you're more odd than I am.....but you still can't have the violet screwdriver set!!! :p

Well, I guess it was worth a shot. But I bet you forget it's there once the zombie apocalypse starts, and then I'll have my chance.

I say it sells for $150.00 and it goes to someone here on GJ.

Haha, cheater. I thought that went high, but you got the steal of a lifetime on the green one. I can't believe a prototype slipped by all of the collectors, and a brand new one at that! I'm crying a little inside at the final listing price on that one. I also reduced your shipping and sent you an invoice.

I'd bet if you'd have put the words "rare prototype" in the title in all capital letters I'd say you'd have gotten double or triple the money. Most people who are looking for snap on either have that screwdriver in the color of their choice (mine's orange)and would skip over it or they don't have any desire to buy a soft pistol grip (almost wish I hadn't bought mine lol). The other issue with that one is that where it looks like a current production at first look, the collectors probably wouldnt give it a second glance. The blue one stuck out like a sore thumb so it got lots of action. You could have called it "snap on screwdriver" and nothing else and you'd have done well. Didn't think it would go for that little money though. I was sure it would fetch $200+.

I agree, def thought it would bring more money. It seems all of the action took place in the beginning of the auction instead of the end.

Yeah, I listed it the way I did because a co-worker of mine sells snappy by the thousands, and snappy has had ebay cancel his auctions and get him 30 day suspensions for some of the stuff he listed. Considering the Proto had "NOT FOR RESALE" on it also, I figured they'd be all over me. That's why I listed it the way I did. I knew I'd get more attention with a grabby headline, but I'd rather someone gets a steal than get myself into any trouble with the snappy gods.

Makes sense...never thought of it that way. I've never sold on eBay so I guess I don't know about a lot of the **** that side of the house has to deal with.

...Which is 90% of why I hate ebay. My grandfather fought in WW2 and brought back some knives with him. Eventually, I got interested in the types of stuff he brought back, so I bought some of my own. When I got tired of some of the stuff, I tried to sell it on ebay. It got kicked off. The reason was that it violated ebay policy. So, I emailed ebay. They said it violated their "hateful and discriminatory" section of rules. Specifically, it said that the German stuff I was trying to sell encouraged and promoted hate and racism. So, I relisted the stuff again thinking those morons didn't have a clue. They kicked it off again 2 or 3 more times, and eventually someone called me and told me I would lose my account if I insisted on relisting it. I said I kept relisting because they wouldn't give me a real, specific reason for not allowing the sale of German memorabilia, but they allowed US, Italian, Russian, Japanese, etc. So, the person reiterated the same babble. So, I got pretty pissed and said, "So, what you're telling me is that my grandfather, between avoiding gunfire or cleaning up his tank commander from the inside of his tank was helping the Germans promote hate and racism by bringing back war trophies?" The idiot got all tongue tied, then his supervisor got on the line all uppity and starting screaming at me about how ebay is a privilege and if I didn't like it, find somewhere else to peddle my "disgusting artifacts." Hence, why I want to avoid ebay anytime I can. Small minded people make up their rules.
