I thought that I had posted on this thread before but I skimmed through real fast and didn't see me. If I'm repeating myself I apologize.
I was born in aurora Il. That is about 12 miles from Yorkville Il where the Remline factory was located. Back then everyone said they were from Chicago, Yorkville was about 45 miles from chicago back then but much closer today. The box pictured was purchased by my father at the factory for 5 dollars for each piece a total of 10 bucks. He bought them around 1971- 1972 he was a truck driver for Blackwood motor freight and pulled freight out of Remline. The box was in there scratch and dent section it had a small dent in one end so the factory sold them as opposed to scraping them. I borrowed it from Dad in 1975 as I got a job at the Toyota dealership in Aurora and needed tools, we also went to Farm and Fleet in Dekalb Il. and bought some wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and a hammer. Dad passed in 2007 and I took the box home with me. I plan on redoing it someday, my neighbor owns a powder coat shop he looked at it and said he had the powder in stock to do the job when I was ready. I ain't ready. Anyway I said all of that to say that alot of you have asked the age of your box, mine is circa 1972, thanks, Jim
