Im just curious what would be a good water pipe to use for residential? I want to replace my old pipe. I was thinking of just running PVC schedule 40. I live in so cal the depth required is a foot. Anyone have recommendations?
Is pex rated for underground use?Black poly or pex will work. PVC is old tech and no better than black poly or pex.

You can use PVC if you want, I did, but I had a unique situation. I’d use black poly/HDPE/PEX. You can check out Ewing https://ewingirrigation.com/products/irrigation/pipe/hdpe-pipe or PUS in Corona https://www.performanceutilitysupplyinc.com/ I’m pretty sure They’ll have what you need. Also, I would go deeper than 1’, use a flagging material in the trench and you’re supposed to also install a tracer wire.Im just curious what would be a good water pipe to use for residential? yes, although outdoor use it may need to be protected, buried below frost, etc.Is pex rated for underground use?
Yes call before you dig generaly dosnt mark past where the municipality owns. So they really dont care if you screw up your own utilities..just theres.Yesterday I filled out a call before you dig ticket online. I was surprised to see the water district show up around 4pm. Unfortunately they dont mark anything after the meter.... But they gave me a lot of info. They suggested using 1 inch black ploy. 12 inches is plenty of depth. They mentioned theres a sewer line going toward my house and to stay away from that. But they advised me it should be deeper than 12inches.
