everytime I think it can't et any better, then I check the next day, and BAM the story proves me wrong
It would be great if you can also find the conical piece that would have been attached to the base of the beacon and the roof mount."[/I]
Since I'm just now getting to the area the where the Beacon Ray was found I'll need to be watchful for that conical attachment piece. Wish me luck on that one!![]()
)
Thomas

I will wish you luck finding that part, and I hope it's in a safe place right next to the nose cover for the Walker jack!![]()
There it is...

...over there, no wait it's...

...right here, no that doesn't look right, maybe it's...

...under that thingy, you know, by the Waker- lost belly tanker thingy.....
How I spent my summer vacation, looking for misplaced whatcha-ma-call-its. under all sorts of thingys...![]()

I think you might have the first piece that would be required to build one of these.

While all the other kids are hunting for eggs this Sunday, we all know what Thomas will be diligently searching for.
Everyone sing along now ---
'A tisket, a tasket,
a green and yellow basket.
Searching here, searching there,
he's searching nearly everywhere.
Finding naught 'neath his bed,
nor a thing above his head.
He seeks it high, he seeks it low,
he loudly shrieks, "Where did it go?"
From hopeful dawn,
to dismal dusk,
he gives his best;
THIS IS NO JEST!
As Day is done,
Cruel Fate has won.
He stands dejected,
in disgust,
bitter of tongue,
covered in dust.
Wailing woefully, he shouts aloud
to no one but a passing cloud,
"Oh My, Oh Me,
Oh where, oh where, could my conical thingy be?"'
('Channeling' Dr. Seuss) lol
Good hunting Thomas and perhaps the 'burning bush' will find a place as the Lift Actuation Warning Beacon, if the 'Field of Dreams' hope gets dashed.

Is that TWO anvils I see in those pics?

Thanks Thomas, between the short periods of time they unbuckle the straps on my jacket, I have plenty of time to dream this stuff up. lol...
Thomas, when I worked in an auto parts store in the '50s we stocked replacement Tungar bulbs for battery chargers-----LOU-----
That's a pretty cool power hacksaw! Good thing its a Keller, because if it was a Craftsman...well...plane tickets are pricey
...and so is shipping

Now that would would be cool, eh?Well if it was, to a man of means such as yourself, that's nothing but a mere trifle.Wonder if you could get Sears to underwrite your shop?
Now that would would be cool, eh?
Thomas

That's interesting, I'd never heard of them till I found that charger. What are the chances you saved a bulb Lou?But then for all I know that charger works as is, in fact I guess I'd be surprised if it didn't.
Are we going to get Jacob and Randy into the Roadster club? At the very least we should save them some space next to SDRC pits at Bonneville don't you think?
Thomas

We can wait for your update. We can wait for your update.

New member here trolling through threads... Wanted to add my congratulations on a truly wonderful shop restoration/labor of love. My favorite part of the before/after pictures is you keeping the "CASH ONLY" sign!
Thomas,
I’ll apologize right now for the momentary hijack of your thread, but I know that a few anvil aficionados frequent this place, so I thought this was worth posting.
Check out http://www.vandertook.com/forge/salebill.htm
There are three anvils listed on this sale, a Trenton, a Peter Wright, and a Hay Budden.
There are some pictures at the bottom of the page, but I wouldn’t be able to identify which is which.
Now, back to regularly scheduled programming…..

I started a thread on HAMB about out salt motorcycle. The hot rod boys have given me some flack about putting up a motorcycle thread on their hot rod board, but seeing it is a GO FAST SALT CYCLE . I think they are accepting it.

What's this we? You got a mouse in your pocket?
I can't wait! Now Now Now!
First Thomas teases us with the prelude to what is sure to be another wonderful story, then IMCA38 tantalizes and taunts us (me) with an auction (with anvils!!!) tomorrow in Nebraska, which is just a smidge out of my commuting range, and now you think it's ok?!?! Seriously man.... Where are your priorities?!?!
MM

I don’t know where to begin; after spending all my spare moments the last three weeks reading this post from beginning to end, both at home and at work, I have to reach out to say thank you Thomas and Chris. As a fellow car guy, drag racer, restorer of buildings and all things mechanical, I am amazed by your abundant skill set and patience. Your story lifts all whom have read it to a new level, you have given me more patience and attention to detail in the tasks set before me. From the perfectly fitted dovetails on your new bench to the forward thinking that went into the planning of your new shop floor, you have taught us to take the time to do it right, and given us the satisfaction of seeing it through. It’s not quite enough that you have accomplished so much in so little time but that you have carefully documented all of this great work in detail and shared it with us is quite amazing. It is because of you and others like you that Garage Journal is the go-to place to hang out with like-minded, trusted friends. The warmth shown between members here and within your postings is very satisfying in this world of fast paced multi-tasking. I am off to get back to rebuilding my newly found Sun 1020 Scope thanks to you, keep up the eye for perfection and attention to detail. Thank you so, Brian
