I am trying to set my lathe up with the ability to reverse the electric motor. The motor is an AO Smith aka Century electric Split phase 110V motor that has provisions to reverse directions by swapping two wires.
Here's a link to the catalog page. I have been all over the Century website looking for more wiring info, but this is not a current PN motor and there is no additional info listed on it anywhere. The model is F670A.
I wired up a DPDT swicth to reverse directions, but this wiring only affects the start winding. I still need to run a standard power switch to the motor, there is no way to power everything through the DPDT switch.
If I am thinking of this correctly, I need effectively a tandem or dual circuit DPDT switch, or a SPST/DPDT combo switch. All of the drum switches I have looked at do not seem to have this functionality.
Anybody have any thoughts or ideas?
