Another free log. Will be interesting to cut into it and see what it is. Any guesses?

Aaarrrgggg!

It’s another F’n cottonwood!

I wasted a cup of non-ethanol pre-mix boat gas on a stinky cottonwood!!

Y’all know how much that cost me!! At todays gas prices??😲

I did pull a second log yesterday evening.
Haven’t cut into it yet.

Skipped out on work today.

Wanted to be home for the lowest tide in 10 years.

Decided to give the ramp a haircut.

First pic is an average low tide.
2nd is a minus 3.67’ tide.

Gives me about an extra 15’ of lot size🙄

Are the dogs trying to roll in the mess? I noticed our tide was super low today at -2’, but you’ve got us beat.

That is so cool!!! I could spend hours just watching.

How far are you from the ocean? Are those sea otters?

How is the fishing in your backyard?
We are on inland waters, inside Puget Sound. The ocean is a few hours away.

I believe the otters we have around here are river otters, although they’re in salt water.

The otters seem to do quite well fishing. Me, not so much😕

This afternoon we had a community work party on the ramp.

It’s good to have neighbors with tractors!

I pull my truck so the back wheels are in the gutter., slope of the driveway is opposite the street, so the tailgate is low as possible. Then 2x6 ramps, slide it down to the furniture dolly.

If going into the house, back it up to the front porch, but that beast in the house might be a bit much.

Easiest might be to get the neighbor with a tractor and bucket, strap it into the bucket.

Yup, the DC is huge with a planer, else your chips can mar the finish, BTDT. I have the Dewalt 12-1/2”, and my Jet 1500 DC keep up fine. Not sure, but it should keep up with a 12”, unless you take huge cuts.

it states minimum CFM in the manual somewhere, can’t find it right now.

I believe it was only 400 CFM.

Now if you could only get your hands on some wood to run through that beauty. :bounce:

Jay
Got another little maple last night too.

Somewhat cheaper than the planer.
