Good news, Sears has managed to once again kick the can down the road a while longer - they've gotten another 2-year extension on paying back some loans.
Okay, the [May 31] big closing list just came out! My local stores have both escaped, for now. The little symbols after the Sears locations have something to do with when their auto centers close, not important. Per this brief article about the DeWitt/Syracuse, New York Sears that's part of this list, I believe these are all in liquidation from tomorrow [actually Jun ~15] through Sep 2, or close to it.
It's only 63 total, so some of the 72 initially expected were left for another occasion. 15 Kmarts and 48 Sears.

Man I'm having a hard time figuring out something to buy...
Need to spend $45+, I have points starting to expire today and a dollar off thingy too...
Thoughts on some items?

Yes, the Craftsman folding bolt cutters are definitely made by Olympia. But the reason I slightly favor the Olympia-branded version is, after reading all the reviews of all the sizes of both brands on both Sears.com and Amazonmonths ago, I learned that the Olympia versions have adjustable bolts in the heads so the cutting edges can be realigned over time as needed, but the Craftsman versions are riveted in place, unable to be readjusted for longer life. I would've gone with the Craftsman 24" version if I'd been ready to make a purchase during its less-than-1-day time at nearly half off a month or so ago, but for the usual $2 difference I'd go with Olympia. I also decided that the 24" version is the best balance of size and versatility (reviews indicate the shorter lengths aren't powerful enough for larger bolts and most locks and metal cables, just stuff like wire closet shelving and tiny bolts).
My blades are adjustable. Just picked up today for the CM brand. However, they were used slightly before, and the handle on mine are wobbly (and of course it was the last set in the store...). Will be back to exchange when they get new stock in.
I got the points on the Hanes offer and just spent another $30 on toiletries to get $30 cash back. I used a $5 off $50 and $15 in points to get the order down to $30 out of pocket.
Didn't know what I wanted to get to take part in this deal and then I remembered the post below.$30 back in points, in 3 weekly installments of $10 each, if you spend $30+ OOP on anything sold by Kmart on Kmart.com this week:
Spend $30, get $30 CASHBACK in points awarded in 3 weekly installments.
Expires 06/09/2018
Offer valid 6/3/18 - 6/9/18. Maximum $30 CASHBACK in points per Member. Initial $10 in points awarded to member account immediately after purchase. $10 in points will then be awarded to the Members accounts on 6/10/18 and 6/17/18. Excludes Pharmacy. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction.
I went to the Kmart site and didn't use the Sears link just to be sure there would be no points issues.K-mart Item
Good price to begin with, its cheaper than Amazon, but if you can get it in-store with that $10 going, it's almost a no-brainer if you have 2/4-cycle engines (and don't buy rec-gas). Great product. I figured it was snake oil, but bought a bottle and our backpack blower sounds like it has a speed 11, or more like when we originally bought it.
Startron Gas Treatment 32 oz (if you ever compare to 8oz size, that is a much weeker strength)
What tool did you buy?
Where do you find the 10 off 40 coupons?
Thanks.
Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not... Nothing yet, just received my first $10 installment on the $30 back in points.
If these points were $10 installments over the next three weeks, those points expire in 7 days, or the ones I got yesterday do. Purchased $30 worth of stuff from K-mart got $30 back in points over 3 installments over the next three weeks. By the time I get the next $10 in free points, the prior $10 will expire if I do not use them.
Find out that I am going to be in Louisville over weekend. Going to see if I can have some time to stop by at Sears over there. I have not been to this store, so it will be interesting to see what I can find. I usually do not pay attention to in-store-only deal, so let me know if there is anything worth buying.
All I need right now is two 5 gallon buckets to replace my broken ones lmao
I haven't spotted any good in-store-only deals lately that I recall. Just about everything I've looked at and/or bought in the last few weeks has been at an in-store price either equal to online price or higher. I like to buy in-store when I can, but I've had to get a lot of price matches to online lately. Some employees aren't as eager as others to do it, but they know they need to, to help their in-store sales stats.
You might want to check out their punch/chisel selection for remaining US-made stock, if you don't already have all the ones you want. (Look for my post a few days ago with a list of the options.) If you get the 6pc set I got a couple days ago, it will need a price-match, but buying in-store is the only way to be sure you get US.

The Irwin Extendable Screwdriver dropped to $8.** in my store. I picked up a sharpening stone tonight that wasn't on sale, but it was the last one & I had a $5 off late pickup coupon to use. made in Mexico![]()
Pls share if anyone has coupon for $40.

I have got coupons from others on fb grps in the past. Yhey just have to copy the coupon number and share. Most Sears coupons/offers are not shareable, they are added to your account automatically by Sears when you shop there.

So I'm not sure which if any of the rest of these deals are actually new/good. I received an e-mail from Sears stating that my cabinet order was canceled. The problem is: Total Charged 106.99
Total Credited 77.02
I assume it is because of spending the 30 bucks back earned from the canceled purchase. Currently chatting and Sears says that is the issue and do not wish to refund the total amount.
Suggestions?
Thanks.
I disagree with Hexen above. I would tell them you want the entire amount charged back and to make your points go negative. I view points as fifty cents on the dollar at best.I received an e-mail from Sears stating that my cabinet order was canceled. The problem is: Total Charged 106.99

They offered to give me $30 bucks in points good for a year, but after further stern discussion they said that they will put in for a full refund. If it doesn't go through I guess I contact my credit card people and dispute the charge.

Personally I value my ongoing account usability enough to want to avoid going negative if at all possible, but it's up to you. And a credit card chargeback would be a high risk of a complete shutdown, I think.OKPersonally I value my ongoing account usability enough to want to avoid going negative if at all possible, but it's up to you. The closest Sears is over an hour away from me. Before these purchases I bought from Sears every three years or so---I do have a large collection of Craftsman tools built up over the years and a few appliances however. They should fulfill their agreements. Their ineptness should not be my problem.

Then, contrary to the wishes of the customer, Sears cancels the original transaction and claws back the points incentive at full retail value. In other words, the customer was deceived into paying cash for the second transaction
If you have a store nearby, then you may want to check if they have some remaining USA stock on hand:
Craftsman 6 piece Chisel Set $14.99
2 pin punches, 2 cold chisels, 1 lineup tool, and 1 center punch

Despite making transactions with a sinking ghost ship you really can't have it both ways either. IMO its too risky shopping at Sears at this time looking for "fools gold" in points. If it has to be a Sears deal go for the instant bucks off make the transaction and be happy.
