Wow, glad I ordered that scraper set when I did, it's shot back up to $19.99 already now!

Looking like the Blowout Event is drawing down.

Many of the items that no longer have Blowout price are still in stock, so they clearly didn't plan on selling them until they ran out.

In store yesterday most of the sale tags for "blowout" items showed an end date of either 11/16 or 12/7.

Oh wow, they've upped the ante again. Surprising to see this extend past Black Friday. As we've seen, though, some of the sale prices might be pulled prematurely. (And sometimes they have raised a price and then brought it back down a week or two later.)

I hate to say this and see people lose their jobs, but the whole chain needs to just close and put an end to the seventeen year, slow death the chain is going through. It is frustrating to watch, after working a decade in retail, to see how piss-poor management destroyed two retail icons.

Yes management is probably responsible, I agree with that. But I think the shift into online shopping really hurt Sears (and other B&M retailers) who does not seems to be able to adjust their business.

They adjusted themselves right out of business. Only putting the great deals online and then having a pickup system where you don't even need to come inside.

My local Sears (Northridge) is finally closing. All tools are currently at 15% off. They had a lot more tool boxes on the floor today. Not that I care or even looked at them but there was a lot more stock today for the entire tool section than there was the last time I was there about a month ago.

Wanted to get me another set of scrapers but none in stock. What's weird is the 3 pc set is $19.99 right now but if you buy them individually can get them for less than $15. They have em in stock at the next closest Sears to me but that store isn't closing (yet). Gonna go grab em tomorrow.

"Next closest Sears" isn't something that is uttered too much in the here and now. My local store is closing in less than two weeks which leaves the next closest Sears to me at 51 and 77 miles compared to the 9 and 21 it used to be.

My est. time of arrival was Oct. 30th on the last order I placed.

Will they eventually cancel the order if they don't have the stock on hand or are they going to hold the funds indefinitely?

For those who ordered the Hulk compressor and were worried whether it would really ship at that price, someone on SD got their store pickup notification today 10/22, so things are looking good. :)

Fingers crossed but I have my doubts, mine was estimated to be here (at store for pick up) on the 22nd, but it's still not here or at least I haven't received the email that it's here ready for pick up.

Sometimes the system does not generate pickup notices anymore. Or sometimes it would have if the store employees had checked in your package properly when it arrived, but they didn't. Check your order history for a tracking number (sometimes it's available, sometimes not) and see if the tracking number shows it's been delivered. If you don't have a tracking number, ask Sears.com chat for the real status of your order, they can see additional details we can't. Or if your store isn't too far away, stop by and see if your order shows up in the kiosk as ready for pickup.

I stopped by, Kiosk didn't show it so I asked an employee that works in the pickup area to check since it would be in a larger box....no luck.

So I went home and tried chat....

Are all the expired online Blowout prices still ringing up in-store at the Blowout price?

For example, is that 3 pc. Gasket Scraper Set ringing up $9.94 or $19.99 in-store? Of course, if they forgot to remove the Blowout price tag, then a cashier may still adjust it to the Blowout price for you.

It was a ship to store order, so there wouldn't be one...right?

Ship-to-store orders are (mostly?) sent in individual UPS packages just like they ship to people's homes, oddly enough. Sometimes they load the tracking number in stuff you can see in your order history on Sears.com or SYW.com, other times you have to ask the chat reps to look it up.

Haha, I hear ya. I can still say it, for now anyway.

First closest store store to me is the one that is closing that I mentioned. I hear Sears actually owned that building (at a mall) & is one reason why they closed it, to sell the building. Heard it was already sold to Walmart.

Second closest store closed a yr or 2 ago. So my closest store now is still not that far but have to get on the fwy to get there. Just got back from there actually, heard they didn't get the notice of closing soon yet but that don't mean anything. I never liked that one, their tool section is really small. If they close then I won't have a store close to me, not worth driving to anyway.

I looked over the order and a bunch of other older ones on the shop your way site and either there are no tracking numbers anywhere or I just don't know where to look for them. One of my problems is that I can't remember over the last year which ones I had to wait on and which ones were pulled the same day, I assumed from on the floor stock.

If you do an order that has multiple items in it, with some of them available in existing store stock and others needing to be shipped to the store, you don't get to see tracking numbers unless you ask chat. But if ordering a single ship-to-store (or ship-to-home) item by itself, I usually can see the tracking in https://www.shopyourway.com/secured/rewards/account-history , like this:

Great

As for the question of "Will they eventually cancel the order", btw, I know that a year or two ago there were some items people here ordered that took months to fulfill. Most who waited long enough did eventually get their items, and those who didn't want to wait had to specifically request that the order be cancelled, it never automatically happened.

Surprise! I think this just started some time Saturday night 11/2. Probably supposed to be for 12:01am 11/3 but loaded a bit early.

" Family & Friends! Extra 10% off tools [and lawn & garden] sold by Sears. Reflected in price shown.
Expires on 11/05/2019
Valid on items marked sold by Sears and/or Marketplace except where indicated. Excludes, Great Price, Hot Buy, Smart Buy, and Unilateral Pricing Policy items. No in-store price matching allowed. "

They appear to have removed Hot Buy status from many if not all of the remaining Blowout sale items, so they get to be part of this too, while keeping the price the same before the 10%. (So prices are now truly 10% lower than they were last week.)

Also, there's a new points-back deal. And it looks like you can even do it multiple times (once per day), if you still have that much left in stock that you want to buy from Sears.

Expires on 12/07/2019

Offer valid in store and online 11/3–12/7/19. Get $100 CASHBACK in points when you spend $100 in store or at sears.com. First installment of $25 CASHBACK in points issued next day. Items must be sold by Sears.

Excludes Marketplace sellers, Lands' End, select mattresses (...), Serta iComfort pillows, Tempur-Pedic Tempur pillows, Stearns & Foster Premium pillows, Sealy Premium pillows, Serta Premium pillows and Beautyrest Premium pillows.

Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction. Limit one per member per order and per promotional period. Cannot be combined with any other CASHBACK offer. Points cannot be redeemed on Marketplace, grocery or drugstore items. By accepting Shop Your Way member benefits and offers, you agree to the Shop Your Way terms and conditions, available at www.shopyourway.com/terms. Started a mad dash this morning to get in price protections on all my orders for the past month! :eyecrazy: Only got $1.39 back. :(

The "Temporarily unavailable" on many product pages killed off some of my opportunities, and some items still available now have higher prices even after F&F discount.

ok so i just price protected the only 4 items i could, all of them on one order, and i have no idea what the chat lady just did and im pretty sure she doesnt either. i gave a list of all 4 item #s and first she tells me that i received a full refund for one item (AA batteries) on the day i ordered them. pretty sure thats not true--at least not that ive noticed. next she gives me a flat $2 refund ($2.14 after tax) and says that was the amount for all of the rest of my items, but that email they send showing the refund says the full amount was credited against a $.35 price drop for AAA batteries.

i didn't argue since my total refund should have been less than ~$1.50, but it still makes me think if i asked again about the other items tomorrow i might get lucky. also, the last few times ive price protected my orders they have issued actual refunds to my cards, not just tossed back points. i find that part very odd as before it was like pulling teeth to get them to give actual cash back.

anyway, once i get my points refill tomorrow i plan on buying this. ive got $5/25 freecash to use too which brings it down to a decent price. just had to rent one from advanced last night and it was almost $40

also, Greenlee SCREWDRIVER SET $17.05. about $37 on amazon, $42 on zoro, $40 on walmart, but those are all 3rd party sellers

and you can piece together your 3pc gasket scraper set for $11.55

Craftsman Serpentine Belt Tool $11.65

GearWrench Tie Rod End Puller and Pitman Arm Puller $14.36. this usually hangs around $19-21, by far the lowest ive seen this

Craftsman Strut Spring Compressor Tool $18.85

Craftsman 52" 10-Drawer Heavy-Duty Rolling Cart - Red $359.95 - $35/300 brings it down to $325 for a 52" cabinet with soft close drawers. very very good price. plus $100 back in points. plus RMN has 10% cash back right now for OOP at sears. for comparison the same cabinet is at lowes for $439.00

Of course Sears offers the $100 after I spend over a hundred last week and do not need anything else now...

Of it's still the same price, rebuy it? I suppose if you used points or a coupon, it would fudge things up, but if the hundred point make sense, I would do it

tabs, thanks for the heads up on the gasket scrapers. Just pieced together two 3-pc kits, then randomly had $10.08 in my SYW so both kits came to $17.90 shipped.

I'll keep one and give one to my non-profit

I was able to price-protect two recent purchases this evening:

Craftsman [Evolv] 16 oz. Fiberglass Claw Hammer
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-evolv-16-oz-fiberglass-claw-hammer/p-00938132000P
was $5.94 blowout sale price, now still available at $5.35 with F&F, $11.99 regularly

Schroder 5-0" 3-Position Ratcheting Tap Wrench
https://www.sears.com/schroder-5-0inch-3-position-ratcheting-tap-wrench/p-00931517000P
was $7.94 blowout sale price, now still available at $7.15 with F&F, $18.99 regularly

Another price drop that hasn't gone out of stock yet is the beam torque wrenches, but I bought my recent 1/2" in-store and used a freecash, so can't get anything back from that.

Craftsman 1/2-in. Dr. Beam Style Torque Wrench, 0-150 ft. lbs.
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-2-in-dr-beam-style-torque-wrench/p-00903300000P
was $12.94 blowout sale price, now still available at $11.65 with F&F, $30.99 regularly

This one didn't go down nearly as much as it should have, so it must have had a price increase at some point since my post 3 weeks ago:

Craftsman 3/8-in. Dr. Beam Style Torque Wrench, 0-75 ft. lbs.
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-8-in-dr-beam-style-torque-wrench/p-00932999000P
was $13.94 blowout sale price, now still available at $13.49 with F&F, $25.99 regularly

The tack puller I bought in-store with the torque wrench is also still available (and mine has already come in handy several times):

Craftsman Tack Puller
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-tack-puller/p-00941397000P
was $2.94 blowout sale price, now still available at $2.65 with F&F, now claims $7.89 regularly but was $7.29 regularly last I'd looked

I think I figured out the false lack of supply for the Temporarily Unavailable and Only Available in stores items.

Basically they pull them from the warehouse and stores, then dump them in Sears Outlet stores for full MSRP. Yes this really was the price. Just another point that the cheapest time to buy anything is while it’s still on the website for sale by a non closing Sears.

:lol_hitti I guess Sears decided the primarily-tax-preparation company that now owns Sears Outlet is more of a sucker for full price than the regular Sears customers.

Sad to see the apparent demise of many good products, anyway.

Considering that Transform Holdco was buying Sears Hometown, I figured that they'd want to save the inventory for those stores. :headscrat

I guess Sears Outlet was paying Transform a fantastic amount for this merchandise. As of Oct 23rd, Sears Outlet is owned by Franchise Co and things may change.

Tool prices have increased. As with past Family & Friends events, Sears just can't resist raising online prices before the event ends. :rolleyes2

i ordered a few Craftsman Stainless Putty Knives on 9/16 for in store pick up. It was less than $10 and one of the item was not in stock. I didn't go pick it up until today. Online order status said it was "picked up". Kiosk doesn't show that order at all. Sure it's been month and a half but at least they should refund it - picked up? no way!

Ask chat for a refund, they have usually been able to help with order screwups of various sorts. Shipping you a replacement would be better, but I know most if not all of those are no longer available (and darn if there isn't still one I was never able to get ahold of, the 4in; I misjudged which would run out first and not get restocked).
