These are fantastic and USA made. I'm thinking of buying another set and I use retaining ring pliers about once a year if that...haven't had to use them yet this year.

They also have the single pieces for I think $5 for the small and $6 for the large.

Is the second snap ring plier good for use on cars?
I haven't used mine yet but I imagine they will work for automotive applications, these aren't Asian made cheapo tools. USA made, bought mine last week.

These aren't Asian made you mean. They are identical to MAC's if that means anything.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, lol

Just in case, those are US made and likely by someone with no saleable skills.

I just bought the DeWalt 118 Piece Mechanics Tool Set, 1/4-Inch & 3/8-Inch Drive, Item# 00939118000P for $59.99. I found this through the local.sears.com site. The page with the tool set shows how many other stores have the set in stock. Clicking on the link shows a map with the price for each store. Half the stores were at $134 and the other half at $59.

This set will help replace my 12 point Penncraft and Craftsman menagerie. The ratchets are the 72 tooth style.

Thanks I picked up the bigger Dewalt set not long ago for around $100 or less just grabbed this one as well will toss this in the trunk of the car.

Not bad for $42.13 total. Had $15 in surprise points that expired on the 30th plus found a code for $5 off took the money off now instead of points for later.

not sure if these work for all but you can try.

PROMO CODE:9700055187737047 - $5 off $50
PROMO CODE:9700055187489830 - $10 back in points $50+

I've had these when Sears brought them back out a year or so ago under "Craftsman Professional Use". I gotta say, I've tried REALLY hard to support Sears and the small amount of USA tools they still have.............but these...........these are complete garbage. There is a tab on the back side of the selector disk that actually changes the direction.....and the disk is made of such cheap pot metal that the tab just breaks off. I warrantied them 3 times and just gave up.

+ 1 Don't waste your time or money.

My wife just bought me one of these........I'm not quite sure why.

Anyone have and use one? Any good? Can you run straight lines vertically, to mark locations for sill plates for walls?

Yup, I'm being sarcastic. I appreciate American tools as much as the next guy, but to be honest we make some lemons in this country too.

From that article. "and used to make Craftsman tools for Sears." Interesting...

We know that Sears has slowly been outsourcing WF-sourced tools. Does anybody know if this is their only plant? Is so, it sounds like the rest of the line will soon be imported. Not that it's a big surprise, we've seen it coming.

Well, Ideal is building that big new facility in Illinois as has been noted in the SK threads. Sounds like Consolidation.

Sounds more like a new distribution center to handle cans full of junk off the boat from China.

Not sure if this will work for others, but It did for me. So ymmv I was clearing out all the shop your way spam and I reopened the same e-mail where they sent me the 30 for 30 coupon, well it loaded another coupon with a new code spent $40 and just got 37.** back.

So if you get one of those good coupon codes that you need to activate threw an e-mail link don't delete that email, I removed the first coupon after I used it last week which is when it expired and it showed as redeemed. So after the first coupon expires, remove it from the sears site under clipped coupons and go back the next week and try activating the coupon from the e-mail again it may just give you another one like it did for me. I've heard there is a limit of 2 per account on those but who knows.

Got to love how screwed up sears website is.

lol They just gave me a $30 in points for $30 spent coupon in an e-mail.... now to find what will work with it online.

I'm not even silver. it was buried in a spam e-mail for the $25 linked credit card promotion/ refer a friend promotion .

you had to activate it and add it to your account, it was all the way out the bottom of the e-mail, so Some people may have missed it. I'm just a trial max member

couldn't get it to work on anything online so I went to the store at lunch and used it buying the Dewalt metric ratcheting wrench set, got the last one on the shelf, so pretty much got it for $13 after tax with the points back deal.

Just got my third $20 off $20 in surprise points...free or a couple buck tools are nice. If you spend $20 and use surprise points (on certain items), you get $20 in points.

Dumb *** sears.
