Has anyone ever used a Kmart or Sears gift card to purchase items? I am wondering if that affects points and SYW rewards. Slickdeals is showing 10% off Kmart gift cards if bought in store and it seems are accepted at both stores.

A gift card is your money, just like using cash or a debit card to earn points.

I usually buy Sears/Kmart gift cards for 15%-20% off, which I hold onto until there is a good bonus reward on a product. Then, I add a bonus reward coupon as well.

Right now, the Sears site has $10 in points for $45 purchase, but the bonus is only available for spending on 1/24 - 1/30.

Just bought a KD/Gearwrench pitman arm puller....the 6 piece Gearwrench mini torx set (under $9.00) and some parts boxes.........got the order to exactly $50.....didn't use any existing points....stacked another $10 off $50 so I have $20 in points for my next order.

I picked up two Craftsman Professional hook and pick sets today for $4.47 each. They're getting hard to find but they'll probably be cheap if you see them.

Craftsman 7-1/4" C3 Miter Saw, on sale from $159.99 to $99.99... plus, you get $30 in bonus points for Craftsman Club members.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-c3-1...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

...but, there's also a $20 in points on tools over $100 coupon, so find a filler, I used the 4-in-1 Craftsman Screwdriver Keychain:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-4-way-screwdriver/p-00904160000P

Which, those two combined just gave me just over $51 in points. So essentially, youre getting this $160 saw for $49. Not too shabby!

Has anyone had any luck lately with surprise points? Neither my wife nor I have received any this year. She was getting regular deals that were pretty good in December. It seems like the well dried up though. I used to always get some stupid ones, like $10 in points on $75 of shoes. But nothing all year so far....

Seems like a decent deal. Pair of Craftsman 10" & 12" Adjustable wrenches #44012 for $21.84. Not marked a hot buy so coupons should work. And as far as I know these are still USA. Link

That looks like a solid deal. I can't remember the last time that I saw adjustable wrenches on sale.

It's hit and miss. I made one or two purchases from September to December 2015 using good surprise points deals (I think one was a $5 off any purchase, and the other a $10 off $10?). I had a ton of $7 off $100 or $35 off $500 surprise points, which I never used. I only use the $x off any purchase with no minimums, the ones like $10 off $10 or $15 off $15, and if I see something I actually need, I will use the $10 off $15 or $20 off $25 where I only have to pay a few bucks to get something 70%-80% off. Otherwise I just don't buy stuff from sears.

So far in January I have received a $10 off $15 (which I used for some large vice grip clamps), a $20 off $25 (used for a 3lb all metal USA drilling hammer), a $10 off $10 (used for a large HSS countersink), a $15 off $15 (USA magnetic level and a 14MM socket as filler) and another $15 off $15 (used for another pair of large locking vise grip clamps).

That's $80 worth of stuff and I've only spent like $12.

Last year I spent probably $50 for over $300 worth of items. It's all about patience and waiting for the good coupons. I'm convinced they start sending you better surprise points the longer you don't make a purchase from them, and then you usually get a huge stream of them.

I keep getting things in the mail that say I have $20 off $20 surprise points, and check my account....nothing.

I'm also very tired of the "OMG YOU'VE WON BIG, THIS IS NOT A JOKE" or "YOU'VE HIT THE JACKPOT" emails, only to open it and find the same $20 off $175 surprise points.

Their email marketing copy editor needs to be fired. No better way to alienate customers than patronize them for months on end with the same goddamn email.

If you leave some items in your cart in a couple days Sears will email you telling you you get 10% off if you complete the checkout. Not sure if other discounts can be stacked.

It's usually only 2% back in rewards for BK, but for some reason it was giving 100% back in December. I couldn't find any promo advertising it, and I sure didn't dare to ask customer service about!

If anyone is interested, you have tie a credit card to your SYW account:

The emails I get for doing that always offer a 10% back as reward points, but I'd sure prefer the 10% off. :dunno:

For a couple months around the holidays, you got 10 bucks back in points if you spent 10 bucks at a partner. This is probably what happened.

More than likely you have multiple SYWR accounts setup but only one is assigned to the online log-in account.

What happens is if you go to SEARS and you do not remember your first SYWR account number, when the associate "looks up" you info, most times they just create a new SYWR account rather than pull up your old one.

Only way to unscrew it is to call SEARS direct and have them condense your multiple accounts into one and remember to use that one account number each time.

Thanks for reminding me.. every time I go to Sears to buy something, they tell me I have 3 accounts. Keep forgetting to call.

If you go to www.shopyourway.com and log into your account, at the upper right, just below your name, click on your points total, which should be shown in some shade of orange. You'll be shown something like the screen shot below. Note that your points total will not include the surprise points - that really threw me off at first, until I figured out where to find them.

And yes, I agree that the marketing has just gone way over the top - all it does is undermine their credibility.

Newest reviews are saying these are China-sourced now. YMMV, some warehouses may still have old stock.

Ordered a set mid November 2015 and COO was China, a set I had bought maybe Jan 2015 were USA. I'm thinking the USA sets are probably gone by now. If anyone gets a USA set please post.

Just got the 12 and 10 adjustable wrenches. Both made in USA. $12 or so after my $10 off of 20 deal. Had to drive past 1 sears to get to the next one as it was pickup today or pickup february 29th at the closer sears (only 8.miles down the road)

I got my adj wrenches today also. Made in USA. I can't figure why they picture them without the USA showing. Even the packaging had the USA side down. Seeing USA would help me decide.

Anyway thanks for the link.

Am I the only one that got an eight inch and twelve inch adjustable?
Looks like you got hosed, return it. No longer on sale, but if you chat with a rep and have them place the order, they'll adjust the price.

I've gotten nothing but the same old lame $10 off of $40...in clothing, for about the past month and a half. I got a bunch of points right around my birthday in December that I used promptly, but the only non-category specific points I've gotten sense was something like $10 off of $150-200. I wouldn't turn down the free points if I needed to make a purchase that large, but a 5-7.5% discount isn't going to get me running into a store for a more impulsive buy.
