All the boxes were Made in China. Unfortunately, couldn't any Waterloo. Though I wouldn't be surprised if some stores still stocked the older type.

Very interesting. I wonder if they switched suppliers when they moved all of the hand boxes from China to Israel.
I used to be pretty on top of this kind of stuff when I was working there and shopping there more frequently. I now own almost everything they sell in the tool dept, so I don't make it in much.

I knew I should have gone with Harbor Freight on the 5-Drawer Tool Carts, lots of ample storage there.
Won't be making the same mistake twice, that's for sure. I scored the Craftsman Tool Cart (I posted a week or two back) for $30 after points. Though, Made in the USA, the steel feels flimsy. Just glad that I'm not moving the cart front to back, side-to-side. Haha

I was pleased though to still see the 26" Craftsman Tool Chest Carts Made in the USA. Used to think the materials were globally sourced, but the box indicates contents Made in USA, three-year warranty.

While I was out picking up a Husky tool box score at HD, I stopped by Sears to see if could get lucky. Found a couple Craftsman garage mirrors w/ coat hooks for $5.97 each. It appears they aren't available online anymore, so gotta take a look in store.

The old Craftsman Industrial stuff isn't necessarily top quality, but these days people go nuts over the USA COO.
Rumor is that the new 2016 line-up[/URL] (also USA) will supposedly make an appearance at the regular Sears stores.

Plenty of threads over at General Tool Discussion purporting Chrome Flaking which is why I was curious to see if there were any changes between now and then.
I've been contemplating on the USA COO for a few days now. As you put it, USA doesn't necessarily mean flawless quality.
Would have been great if Sears took great initiative, not just instill false hope in our minds for bringing the USA COO back, haha.
If it wasn't for contractual agreements with Wilde and Western Forge, Standard Craftsman would have probably all gone overseas. Pretty soon when those agreements expire, it will probably be Sears / K-Mart to fully decide where they want to be in the future.
Hopefully, we won't have to refer to this post '5' years from now. 5-years from now, "I told you so..."

Id say you can't beat either one, esp for the price.
I'm sooooooooooo tempted to get those extensions,But Money is tight right now.
Im sure those extensions are fine, esp. if just used by hand (No Impact)

That is actually a decent ratty for a few bucks. At that price, it makes a GREAT beater!
Which site has a countdown timer for it? Were there other tool deals?
Though, as far as I've seen, this ratchet has been $12.99 all this month so far.
Edit: Nevermind. Looks like it was the Shop Your Way site with the timer, but their daily Deal Heist page often features stuff that is already on sale.

I think they removed the newer version of the kit with the 72-tooth ratchet and security bits. Strange.

I spent a good amount of time "Kicking the tires" on that top when it was on sale along with the bottom a few months back. I think it would have been around $700 using price match and an additional 20% off at Sears Home Store. In the end I decided it was just to flimsy for the money. I loved the "grip latch" drawer pulls, and the lay out but I saw entirely to many with rivets / spot welds that had popped and structural metal bent on display models...

If you have a Menards near take a look at their Masterforce toolboxes. They have a grip latch system and are sturdy like the HF boxes. Fairly cheap especially if you get them on sale as well. I have a 72" and love it. Was looking to get an HF initially, but the grip latch, the color choice and the $999 sale they had on it sold me.
