$400 for just the top chest? Uh, no. :shocking:

I have this in the 40" inch top and bottom. My local Sears Outlet had them for $700 for the set.

I love it and I got the 40" bottom with the 40" wide top drawer. Exactly what I was looking for. Love it.

If you need one, go for it. Worth every penny.

I wasn't getting anything until after I bought something. Now $10 off $25.

You guys might try this as well: put something pricey in your cart and then just close the website. See if they e-mail you an offer for points back

Thanks for reminding me of this trick. I've had it work before in the past but this year has sucked so bad for deals I'd forgotten about it and quit trying things. I put a $50 item in my cart and the next day they offered me $10 in surprise points on a $20 purchase. Took the $50 item out and put in the 10" knipex diag cutters and got them for $20.11 out the door after the additional 5% off code.

I've noticed it also works if you have a lot of items in your "save for later".

I'll test that theory out about leaving stuff in the cart and save for later.. haven't had a decent deal in like 4 months. Then again, haven't seen a whole lot of decent sales that interested me anyway... seems like any decent Channellock and Knipex deals don't show up on the website.

also, what annoys me is that my shopping cart on the desktop site (when logged in) and my shopping cart on the Sears app don't communicate with each other like it does for the Lowes site/app.
edit: now it does after clicking my cart lol.. said I only have 1 item in my cart when I had 4.

Don't know if anyone is interested in the Craftsman 7 piece nut driver sets, but they are on sale for $15.99, normal sale price, and I had $7 off $15; bringing them to $8.99. A lot of these have gone overseas, but open stock is still fairly populated with domesticated tools, allowing you to exchange for US goods.

I've left an item in my cart many times over the past year or so, but all I ever get is an email featuring the item and an offer to earn an extra 10% in rewards on it's purchase. :dunno:

^ Can't afford to waste time on leaving items in the cart, only to find out the prices inflated and at the same time being offered a $10 of $20 or more on tool purchases. It just cancels each other out.

Also, why should we have to buy something to be offered additional deals?

Their prices are already too high now, considering they are now sourcing from overseas. Where are the Harbor Freight prices?

I think the next batch of deals will come right around the Holiday season. Last year, I got a 4" Yost Bench Vise free. Sears offered $30 in points without any requirements, which was nice.

The 12 piece set in the zippered case is definitely going to be China.

But if you separately buy the 7 piece Metric and the 7 piece Standard Inch sets, those are still USA. I'm pretty sure about that. In addition to USA, you get 2 extra nut drivers (14 total instead of 12) by buying the sets separately. I don't know of anyone that has received a 7 piece set from China. At least not yet anyway.

I was in my local Sears Sunday and all of the sets they had were made in China.

Store I was in reduced the entire electronics dept to 7 tvs on a wall. They had dozens, and isles of other small electronics. Now it is all patio displays.

I try and buy some yard tools when on sale for half off. Saw a pitch fork but one of the tines was bent bad, It was so cheap I bent it back with my hands. Tried a skinny straight shovel. Stood on it and it bent. I'm 175 lbs.

No deal but be careful what you get there now.

All the nut drivers i've ordered or seen in store were china, and the singles now too, you can see the cloudyness in the handle which wasn't present in the holo-chrome era.

Nothing in New England. What boggles me is how all of the small Sears stores stay in business, like Appliances, Hometown, etc. those stores are always dead around here

Sears is being bled dry by the corporate thieves - they were so huge, it will take time to steal all the money in property, etc., but eventually it will dry up and blow away, like so many other historic and beloved icons. Greed is good, right?

One of the Sears stores that's closing is in Rochester, NY. It's in a mall that's been abandoned for about 10 years. It's the last store in the mall - the last one. I don't think anyone even knows that Sears was still open there. It boggles that it lasted as long as it has.

Tweksbury, MA kmart is closing.

Nationally, it looks like they are closing in economically depressed areas or very rural areas. Can't be surprised stores in crappy areas can't fight against the tide.

The one in Tweksbury is only a few miles from New Hampshire which has no sales tax. The 10 miles of massachusetts along the NH border is a retail dead zone. No one would buy a tv in MA when they can drive 10 miles and sales 6.25% sales tax.

Ya kind of surprised how much business Home Depot in Methuen gets when 10 minutes away you can go to tax-free Salem. On the other hand, Salem is always busy as hell.

Sears Hardware in Fairhaven, MA just closed on the 18th. Went there this afternoon hoping to find some Craftsman Professional drivers....

And did you?

Usually large chain stores simply move their inventory to other locations. If they are in fact liquidating their quantities, good deals will be had.

Kmart in Panama City Beach was "closing" 5 years ago. I bought 10 big shop vacs for 6 bucks a piece and a bunch of fishing gear for dirt cheap during their "Liquidation Sale" I don't know if they where running some underhanded sales scheme or had a change of heart but they eventually took their signs down and returned to business as usual, Still open to this day. Shortly after that they did close a sears home store, and just last year they closed another Kmart in town. Leaving me 2 K-marts, and a Sears store that I rarely visit.

If it's like most of the sears properties, they probably own the anchor real estate, whereas the rest of the stores leased it. I suspect it's almost as cheap to keep the store open as it is to shut it down and wait for the rest of the mall to be demolished, resold, etc.

The real estate was what made Sears so attractive to Lampert's hedge fund and likely why we're seeing the slow dismantling.

Quick question. Have any of you guys used the Craftsman 947209 obd1and2 scanner? I went to the Sears I use to work and I was seeing that it's a rebranded innova 3140e.

Is the innova /Craftsman good? Planning on using it on a 95 accord, 02 envoy, 2014 370z nismo and a 03 cavalier? Store manager was telling me that they have friends and family on the 1st and am thinking of picking it up.

Went to Sears last night and I came across the 12 piece nut driver set reduced to $18. But these were all the Chinese sets...then when I went to the non clearance section I saw the 10 piece Chinese nut drivers for $39. Needless to say I was confused.

Thanks XJPat, I just used the code. I was able to pick up the Wiha 32092 6pc insulated screwdriver set for $29 shipped including sales tax. Best price I could find online. I've been wanting to grab that set, but coupons and codes have been pretty sparse for Sears lately.

Oh nice, glad a member got it. Yeah I've only been getting 10 off 250 and 5 off 100 lately.
