Not sure if Sears KMART belongs here? but at lest local Kmart has sub 3K ratchet straps , tow and recovery straps closeout half price.
IIRC $9 4pk straps, and $13 for a 20' recovery strap or tow strap.
and a Brinkman light looks like this , but says 680 lumen on the box for $25.

I'm thinking of cutting one up and making some reverse lights for my trailer.

Good deal because they're made in China Now (I purchased this a couple of weeks back, and immediately returned it in-person at my nearby Sears location), that's how much they're actually worth. At least now Sears is beginning to Price Match Harbor Freight

I bought two of the 9 in torpedo level and both are made in China

That's a shame. I may have to go back to the Hometown store and grab one for a spare before they get the new China stock.

I wonder if all the other levels are being switched to foreign-made as well.

Damn, I bought the 9 and 12 a few months ago and got USA made. Got them just in time (and for free after points!) I suppose....

I did just place an order for the 20" magnetic aluminum level a few days ago. Hope it's USA made still.....

I was not as lucky. Last October the "torpedo" level I ordered ended up being an import. I checked the store in hopes of finding a USA version on the floor. There were none to be had so I returned the China level on the spot.

They may owned by the same company but not even close to being the same store.
ShopYourWay rewards points work at both stores. Surprise points too for the most part. Kmart gift cards work at Sears. Sears gift cards work at Kmart. So I think Kmart tool deals do belong in this thread.

does anyone know can i take my broken craftsman tools to k mart for replacement?

i ordered the 12 dollar jack stands, and needed a screwdriver replaced as well as a new dipstick for a mower. needless to say when i left after 1 hour and 20 minutes i had accomplished none of the 3. the customer service is so bad at our store. ended up screaming and swearing out an employee because of their incompetence and said i wanted the store manager... the guy i was yelling at was the store manager lol. its not hard to see in situations like mine why they are going down hill. ordered the 12 dollar stands to pick up and pay at store. after 45 minutes of waiting nobody helped me, and my order wouldn't show up in the kiosk. couldn't find anyone to help me with the dipstick, i blew a gasket on them.

I just bought the 11 piece 1/4 ratchet set & it is really bad. They didn't put the 2nd notch in the sockets, so they are all (except 1) totally loose on the ratchet or any extension.

Not even if I feel like taking the effort to take it back for $10.

Anyone that sells Craftsman is supposed to honor the warranty, it is part of the deal. Therefore you can take items to Ace and get them warrantied as well as K-Mart. This, of course, is only relevant if they sell the tool in store I believe...not sure you want to spend the time to try to get a replacement from K-Mart via some phone or in-store web order based on the experience you already had.

I've been using the Craftsman pair more than my Torin stands due to the minimum height.

The 24" and 48" Magnetic levels are still made in USA by either Empire or Johnson, depending on which model you select. :)

anyone think we should do a Sears outlet deals thread? i've been finding some great deals. nothing local though..

anyone in MD?
http://www.searsoutlet.com/d/invent...pp=SPU&deals=No&itemSelectionType=&&zip=02825

That might be a good idea. I'd recommend if you do it, make it a "Sears Outlet Deals Permathread!" so we can keep the number of new threads down to manageable, but you can do whatever you want of course. It is also handy that way to have a history of previous deals there that may come up again later vs. individual threads for everything. - Paul

$19.99 has been the standard sale price on the set for quite a few years. About as low as it ever gets but still a decent deal regardless.

These are nice, but Home Depot is has the Mayhew set on Clearance for around $36 right now. They Mayhew bars are equivalent to the Craftsman Pros. They seem a little more robust and have the striking caps. You can pay the extra $16 or wait for those to drop further.

Those go on sale for that price at least one or twice a month. I think it's been as low as $17.99 a few times.

The mayhew's HD has are few. My local store only had 4 of them, when they dropped to $36 one sold. They others can't sell since they are not very visible anymore. I'd move one to a quiet area otherwise you'll miss out when it drops next.

Well, you commented on the $20 prybar deal. So I quoted you and mentioned that if someone is interested in this deal they may also want to consider the discount at Home Depot. It doesn't seem very hard to connect the dots on my logic.

The set is missing 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16, but the bigger ones are there.
