usa made axe.... get it while you can, the new stuff is INDIA. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-1-4-lb-camp-axe/p-00948101000P

Just bought one last weekend, it was $10-12ish if I recall, but a nice, small USA axe.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess I missed that steal..LOL....however, I wll keep it up on my list. Ill buy another if it dips that low. There is also a Hatchet that is still USA.

I need these now, wish I had looked a few years ago. I think the new ones are JUNK from india, the finish *****, and just a low level sloppy tool.

I like to try that Fiskars x27. @$55 plus tax, its just a bit hard to justify. I sharpened up a few old 3.5lb axes I had....they work good too, but the extra meat on the fiskars is Interesting. Some people complain the steel isnt quite as good as OLD USA steel, and needs dressing more often. I dont know................

I forgot about these until BMack37 prodded me a couple weeks ago:

Knipex 10" Locking Pliers $24.81. Great deal if you've got 10 off 20.

Mine shipped free right from Knipex USA.

There are a lot of good Knipex deals if you have points and a $10 off $20, a coupon which I get often.

Also keep an eye on Wera, sometimes the screwdriver set dips to $30 for the regular kraftform green and $35 for the chiseldriver set. They also have Kreg for the same cost as Lowe's and HD. Just picked up the Kreg R3 kit for $2 and the clamp for $2.50 about two weeks earlier.

They keep extending my SYW max membership for free so I get free SYW shipping. Also make sure you check Sears and SYW before you order, I've seen differences in pricing, only a couple bucks but every bit counts.

Regular green Wera screwdriver sets are usually $20 to $25 on eBay ~

Looking now, I see Wera Classic, Wera insulated classic, Wera green, and green torx for $20 to $30

Also, don't just check Sears and SYW, check Kmart also for some craftsman stuff. I've found stuff cheaper at Kmart. Example was Craftsman hex key sets, $5 Kmart $9 Sears

The stuff in outdoor tools is India. These are in tools with the hammers. As far as I know, they're all still USA.
Yeah I saw that, I have been half heartedly looking for a small axe for a while now, and stopped in & saw this one, USA, and cheap, I grabbed it. I'll only need it for odds & ends really.

From what I've noticed, the axes in Lawn & Garden have been Indian for years now. The shovels are sadly the newest ones to join. No more USA shovels.

Hatchets are still tools (division 9 vs L&G at 71) along with the hammers (Vaughan I believe). Don't think those will change anytime soon... at least I can hope.

I was not referring to that set, I was referring to the Kraftform 300. I wasn't aware the other set was also Kraftform. Sears doesn't stock that comfort set.

your right. I stopped by there and saw it marked @ $10.74 grabbed another one. Thats ridiculous.

Sears parking lot was empty as usual. about 4 cars parked there. Management should be proud at what they have done to this Store. Trying to compete with Harbor Freight.....and thats what they get. Pathetic.

My new Craftsman Pro Lawnmower....Outstanding. Powerful. Quiet.
Got it for like $344 and 33 bux in points back to me. 1 pull start.http://www.sears.com/craftsman-pro-series-21inch-front-wheel-drive-190cc/p-07139760000P

I also hate this new thread format. Used to be so much easier to sort through individual threads.

This thread isn't nearly as busy as Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes.
At most, you only have to read the current and prior page...

Adding clutter by complaining about the thread isn't fixing anything. Nobody is stopping you or anyone else from starting a new thread for any single deals.

Sears has an app now. Download it and get $5 on your $15 purchase.

Went to a Sears close to where my wife has been getting shots in her back. Walked in and thought "damn, there are more people in here than I've seen in a long while". I thought maybe this Sears store was on it's way back. Then I noticed the store closing signs and to make sure your purchase is what you want because there are no returns. All sales are final. So I thought maybe there are going to be some good deals to be had. Nope, everything was regular price or higher. I guess I'll try to go by a few days before the end and see if there is anything left at a decent price.
Anyone else gone to a Sears store closing and found any decent deals? How close to the end of the line did it take to find anything at a decent price?
To be sure, I feel bad for the people losing their jobs and that another store is closing, but it is what it is. Might as well get some good deals if they are available...

Has Sears recently started to not allow you to use a coupon code and surprise points in the same order? I have $25 off $60 in surprise points and I just tried to use it with a $10 off $75 coupon code and once I entered the coupon code my surprise points were no longer available. I could have sworn you could combine the two in the past?

They did get smart about combining, but that is at least a good amount of surprise points for dollars spent (it is really a $25 off of 60 coupon) (although with the current $10 in points on $45 for all purchases you really should spend $70 to get 10 more back (since the $45 has to be out of pocket))

I think I remember something about this on here but I haven't been able to find it but I got an email for $10 off $20 and it is not applying to my item in the cart (7in knipex alligators). Were you guys having problems with the deal not showing up until after a certain amount of time?

Be sure to really read the fine print on the coupon. Sometimes they exclude "hot deal" or other special pricing. Even if the coupon should apply, I find that they only work about 50% of the time for me.

Hmm.. got a coupon on my SYWR account for "$100 back in points on $399 or more auto service". I won't be using it though.

Everything else looks like junk.

Definitely didn't start recently. I think it was about 2 yrs ago that I first ran into surprise points with "coupons" listed in the exclusions, and it slowly increased over time.

Still, not all of the surprise points have that coupon exclusion these days.

After clicking on LOAD TO ACCOUNT in the $10 off $20 coupon email, you have to click on apply my Shop Your Way coupons in the online cart to use it.

If the coupon won't get loaded, then you can click on PRINT in the email to reveal the 16-digit code to manually enter it in the cart.

Its not a coupon, it's $10 in surprise points. Last time a received one of these it was automatically applied during check out. I'm new to these points so im trying to figure it all out. The pliers seem to match all the requirements and i dont see any fine print that would exclude them???

Have you looked at your account to make sure the offer is there? Their email system *****. I have got an email about points that I had already used.

Very true - I'll look at my account, and there are points offers that I didn't know I had, no email notification at all.

If you are having problems with coupons and surprise points, call sywr and tell them you are purchasing items that are in the correct category and aren't hot deals, they'll load them to your account like normal points for you.

I don't see it anywhere on my account so Sears probably just screwed up. Sounds like that's normal now. Bummer. It's a good thing they sell Knipex, otherwise they wouldn't get any money from me.

I just had 30,000 points added to my SYWR account that expire in 3 days. NO idea why I got them - I haven't made any large purchases in the past couple months to maybe warrant them either. Time to get some free something!
