Both of these ****. I can't even give away that stool. I'd rather buy a vise from HF than the bench vise selection that Craftsman has now that they got rid of the Craftsman Professional vise.

Craftsman 20-Piece Ratcheting Wrench Set - $54.99 plus over $10 back in points. About the best price I have seen, and although they are not mare in USA, they come in a great black plastic tray for your toolbox drawer and are actually pretty nice wrenches. ~$2 a wrench is pretty awesome.

Best was a month or so ago for about $47 with $10 back in points.

It's basically the same thing as the Gearwrench 20-piece set which is $49.99 most of the time, but currently has that same $10 back offer:

I think I remember something about this on here but I haven't been able to find it but I got an email for $10 off $20 and it is not applying to my item in the cart (7in knipex alligators). Were you guys having problems with the deal not showing up until after a certain amount of time?

Most of the $10 off $20 coupons or surprise points I have received lately have all been for in-store purchases only. Doesn't help me a damn bit because the only thing they still sell I'd like to purchase is their rethread set and it has apparently none of my local stores stock it any longer. I guess they can't have US made tools sharing the shelves with Asian junk.

Sears Hometown here had 10% off all already marked down (red tag) items today for seniors day. You don't have to be a senior.

Finally picked up one of the Craftsman 100 pc drill bit sets they had marked at $14.99.

OK, so off on best price by a few $$, but I have both the Craftsman and GearWrench sets, and the Craftsman ones are much better. They ratchet feels much better, the wrenches are more solid, and the stamping in consistent. The GearWrench sets have uneven stamping and are good for the price, but between the 2, the Craftsman are much nicer. Just my thoughts...

Interesting, because both sets are manufactured by Apex Tool Group.

Is your GearWrench set made in Taiwan or China? I'm not sure what's the different in quality, but most GJ members seem to hunt for the Taiwan version when possible.

The GearWrench set is made in China, so that may be why. This is the set that Sears sells for $50 all the time, so considered them to be like for like until I actually used them. I have to imagine the Taiwan GearWrench are better but they come at a different cost as well.

Sears website is so sketchy, I was looking at knipex pliers, I choose to look at one and on the middle section it has the "People Who Viewed This Also Viewed" shows 3 pliers, one is the Knipex 10" Concretors nippers for $20.86, as soon as I click that tool the price jumps to $28.00! I then log off, started from a fresh browser, same tool appears for $20.86, I click on it, now it's $23.18...wtf sears!

also for the pry bars ($19.99) as soon I log in to use my shop your way points (10 off 20) price goes to 24.99 lol

Question: I just tried to get a price match on the GearWrench 8 PC Reversible Combination Ratcheting Wrench set #9533 on sale at Adv Auto & was denied by Sears (on line chat). I was told they are different items because Sears has their item number as EHT9533. Even though they are the same item they wouldn't price match.

Does this happen often with Sears? Anyway to combat it?

Just a note to check your mailboxes. Last month, I got a mailer with a $10 off $20 one time use for for a KMart purchase.

Yesterday, I got a $15 off $20. The only issue is that I have to find stuff to buy at KMart.

Anybody have any advice on KMart.com items that are worth buying? My local store is too sad to go into....

Craftsman 5 pc. Flare Nut Wrench Set Metric

$19.99

the SAE set isn't discounted

Just stopped by my local Hometown Sears to pick up a few items I ordered online. Took the information for these Flare Nut wrenches with me to buy a set. I put them on the counter, the guy looked them up and said, "Sorry, it's an online only item". So I picked up my other items, went out to the car, and ordered them online for $19.16. Walked back in the store and picked them up.

Not here. Won't price match or warranty gearwrench even if you have a receipt

Yeah, not sure how they get around this, but they will not touch GearWrench warranty. On the 20 Piece Ratcheting Wrench set I did buy, it had one size wrong (2 of the same wrenches), and they would not even exchange. Luckily GearWrench will just send you wrenches for replacement when you need them, so just give them a call directly.

Back when I worked at Sears (2-3 yrs ago), our policy did not state anything about GW warranty. Once I had a customer show me that the packaging actually stated "Return to store where purchased for warranty". My manager and I decided we couldn't argue with that and took care of the customer.

My daughter and son in law are moving into a new house. So just this week, I bought my SIL a Craftsman set for his new garage as a housewarming gift. I can't find the link for that set, but it was 1/2 off at $199. 300, 400 piece set, something like that. It's on sale right now.

The set included those ratcheting wrenches.

So I open the box and 1st thing, I look at the ratcheting wrenches. At least 1/2 of them had the hole for the ratchet punched out of round.

Even the picture of your link shows a ratchet hole punched out of round....

Alot of mine were even worse than that. The worst one was crazy thin at the edge. I wasn't even looking for it, and it caught my eye. Then I looked at them all. They are also bad lobster claws, as you can see.

I took the whole thing back and bought him a Kobalt set. I get tired of Sears bashing, but jeez.....it's just sad. I am proud of my Craftsman USA stuff. It's like they don't even care anymore.

So I would not recommend buying that set.

don't think the ones shown are Knipex.

I have a set of both Craftsman and Knipex - both made in Germany and both identical minus coloring of grip and branding. Not sure if they have a replacement for these that it sourced from China or Taiwan, but if they are the German ones you will be very happy. $35 for the pair is a very fair price.
